My hotpoint aqualtis will only select the drain cycle or the slow spin cycle. There's no blockage as ive removed all pipes at the back and cleaned them.

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Lid Switch Assembly If the washer stops mid cycle the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly If the washer stops mid cycle the door lock assembly should be checked. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any switches on the door lock with an Ohm meter. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Water Inlet Valve If the washer stops mid cycle the water inlet valve cold water side may have failed. Most washers have a cold water rinse and so if they can't fill with cold water they just sit indefinitely waiting for the cold water to enter. If there is cold water to the water inlet valve and the cold water works in other parts of the cycle - or to make warm water - the valve is not the problem.
Main Control Board If the washer stops mid-cycle the main control board might be defective. This is not common. Check other causes first such as the lid or door switch and other components.

Timer If the washer stops mid cycle the timer might be defective. This part is often misdiagnosed, check other components before replacing this timer.

see the diagram attached.

We start the washer and it runs for about 20 minutes. Then it stops and the letters nf come on the control panel and it wont run. Can you please what that means?

According to the user manual for your washer (which is available here, http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/assets/pdfs/literature/Use%20and%20Care%20Guide%20-%202206687.pdf), "nF" means the washer is unable to fill with water. Make sure your water supply lines are free of obstructions or kinks, and also that the water valves are turned on all the way.

Machine stops half way through program

One looses touch with all the codes available, but normally if washer stops mid cycle its due to a blocked or faulty drain pump. OR incomming water is to slow or defective inlet sensor. Switch off and start from the beginning. See if you can get machine to drain by moving the timer etc. If not, rectify pump problem. Take note where in the cycle the problem arises.

My washer stops during the wash cycle and nf appears on the display screen

NF code is Washer does not turn on water valves to fill washer with water. You may need to replace your water valves, but I would first try removing your hot and cold water hoses to see if the screen on your valves is clogged. If they are corroded beyond repair, just pick up another set at the hardware store. Either that or you will need to do the valve replacement.

My washer stops mid-cycle and the screen reads "nf" what does this mean?

nf= no fill
either your water valve is not working your water is not on
or the sceens are clogged where the hoses connect to the back of the washer
the first thing
i would check is the scrrens
if those are clean ensure the water is on...
turn the unit on as normal, you should hear a buzz or hum from the water valve try to open
no hum its probably bad
a very easy repair that can be done by you very simply

the part can be found at appliance parts pros

Error code

My problem was simply that the screens where the hoses connect to the washer were clogged with rust from my well water. I cleaned them and we're back in business.

Samsung VRT washing machine

nF means that washer tried to fill but was unsuccessful. Water supply valves needs to be fully open. Lines may be kinked or screen by the hose hookup at the washer end may be restricting flow. Check to ensure the screens are cleaned by removing hose and pull screens and clean them then try the washer again
