You need to use iTunes, download it here: www.apple.com/itunes/overview. Now if you bought your iPod used you won't have to go through the iPod set up, but if you did buy new then you will have to. After you've done all this, you need to add all your songs to your iTunes library, you can burn your CDs to it or buy them off the iTunes store. Then plug your iPod into your computer and select it in the iTunes sidebar, now if you want to manually put your songs onto your iPod, then scroll all the way down and check the box that says "Manually manage Music and Videos" if you want iTunes to automatically put all your songs onto your ipod then just click "Sync."
www.itunes.com download itunes this is Apple software made for ipod once you download the software and istalled it. Everytime ipod is plugged in to pc it will sync with itunes recieve new songs as long as you load new songs to itunes also you can see all the songs loaded in ipod it too..
Install itunes on your computer for it to detect the ipod as a device , this will install all the necessary device drivers . Now your ipod will be detected by itunes . In the itunes window u can go to the itunes store and buy music or add to itunes library the music available on your hard drive.
