The type of coffee powder you are using maybe causing the drip nozzle to run slower than rated, which is causing the thermal overload heatup and open. When it cools down, you can get another 2 cups to make.

You have a thermal fuse that could be giving you a problem. Some of them you can disassemble some you can't If you can disassemble and check the thermal fuse.
