I had this Check 6000 when I first got the machine. The problem was that I did not lift up the top cover (where you put the paper in). As a result it locks the carriage and creates this error. Lift up the cove at the top of the machine, then turn the machine off and on again and 'Hey presto" your problem is solved.

it is related to carrage motor drive assembly it is on front to left side pls heck its connector.
Turn OFF the machine, and unplug the power cord of the machine from the power supply. After a while (while as in maybe an hour or so), plug the power cord of the machine back in and turn ON the machine. If this does not work, turn off the machine, unplug it from the power (power meaning wall/ac pluggin, if hooked into a computer/phone line, its fine), and hold down the power button of the machine for a minute straight. Then allow it to sit unplugged for a while, and try again.
For this machine, check 6000 isnt a normal occurance. Its not an actual error to be fixed by yourself. Just make sure you don't have a paper jam, new ink, printer head is clean (the printer head is the thing between the ink, and the paper, usually a microchip covered with a clear, plastic coating underneath where the ink sits).
If the same error occurs, contact a Canon service representative for a solution. It may need to be fixed....
