working at the electrical box the switch was turned off. so the garage lights went out. I went back in to start the dryer again and the dryer went on and tumbled the clothes, however the heat never went on. The man that worked on my home did move it and was successful about turning the heat back on. Before I call him I think I'm capable of investigating my other resources.
Check the wall plug voltage for the dryer outlet with a voltage meter. The two holes on opposite sides of the wall outlet should read around 240V. Either of the two outside holes to the middle hole shoul dread about 120V. If your readings differ from these it's likely you have a problem with the fuse/breaker associated with the dryer or the person who fixed your heat made a wiring mistake.

Have a GE Gas Dryer model DBXR463GBOWW. When I turn the start switch, the dryer turns on and immediately stops. If I bypass the start switch, the dryer will stay on. How can I fix this?
