Question about GE DBXR463GB Gas Dryer

1 Answer

Elec. in garage went out, heat from dryer didn't go on

Working at the electrical box the switch was turned off. so the garage lights went out. I went back in to start the dryer again and the dryer went on and tumbled the clothes, however the heat never went on. The man that worked on my home did move it and was successful about turning the heat back on. Before I call him I think I'm capable of investigating my other resources.

Check the wall plug voltage for the dryer outlet with a voltage meter. The two holes on opposite sides of the wall outlet should read around 240V. Either of the two outside holes to the middle hole shoul dread about 120V. If your readings differ from these it's likely you have a problem with the fuse/breaker associated with the dryer or the person who fixed your heat made a wiring mistake.

Where would I find the fuse(s)? , on a M460-G Elec Kenmore dryer?

Check the circuit in your main breaker box that feeds the dryer, I had this happen to me, and that was my problem, reset it, and the problem was solved for me. Good luck

My dryer turns on but wont run

There are several bimetallic heat sensor switches in a dryer. Check them first, then the continuity of the door switch, then the control unit ( I usually get mine rebuilt), finally the motor as a last resort.

Electric dyrer not heating and theres no breaker switch on dryer only in garage

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

Dryer will run for a second and sound three beeps and stops.

Sounds like the door switch has gone bad., but your description is confusing.

First, it takes a few minutes for you to feel the air blowing hot, particularly when the dryer is in a cold garage. The heating elements have to heat up the mass of the metal, and any clothes in the dryer.

The timer design is such that it can not speed up (the motor inside wont start running faster, due to it's electrical design.).

I am suspect that the door switch has failed for some reason, because reading between the lines, I think you are saying when you release the Start button, the dryer quits operating. If the door switch is bad, then it will cause that condition to happen.

Dryer elec. works great no heat

You either have a breaker tripped, a wire has burned off in the back, hi limit switch is bad(located under the hood) or last the element has burned in two.

I have a Maytag Atlantis Gas Dryer that will turn on, rotate, but will not get hot and dry the clothes. A load of clothes in the afternoon, didn’t dry, tried again but didn’t dry – went to bed after putting on auto dry - next morning the dryer was still rotating and didn’t turn off. No hot air – only cold air.
