I found this device to be very simple to use. I bought 2 and one of them gave me this error.
I hope that when you plugged in your keychain to the computer it displays USB Mode.
If not you might have a bad keychain or a non active USB port.
Also unplug any other USB storage devices like cameras or external drives/tape backups.
First look in My Computer and see if you have a "Removable Disk" listed,
If not unplug the USB cable from the computer and plug it into a different USB slot.
When the computer detects a new device be sure to click "yes" to the digitally signed message.
Next check Device Manager to make sure the keychain is listed as "Storage volumes" "Generic volume" (To open Device Manager, click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. Double-click System, click the Hardware tab)
If there is an ! or red x on Generic volume then right click the device, select properties, and click Reinstall Driver...
If there is no "Generic volume" listed, right click the name of your computer at the top of the list and select "Scan for Hardware changes". Reinstall the device if it is found.
Anyway this is a neat device, so don't give up on it.
