Dependable ninety two blower comes on no igniter glow gas flows

Dependable ninety two.... blower comes on few seconds later the gas flows but the igniter does not glow to ignite the burners. I know the gas is flowing because you can smell it outside coming out of the vent.

If you dont see the glow of the ignitor it is probably bad . you can check with a meter that has an ohms scale, unplug and test ignitor side OL would be a bad ignitor 45-110ohms ok.

Hello,

Depending on your brand and model down on the bottom of the front panel is a piece you can take off and look in and see the burner asm. If at first you see the glow of the igniter, followed by a flame then once the flame cuts off a few minutes later the igniter glows but no flame, the coils that open the gas valve wont open to allow gas flow when they are warm, and need to be replaced.

Carrier 48sx gas pack. Won't turn on. No smell. No igniting sound. Blower fan works. How do I troubleshoot this?

Remove the panel from the heater section, you will need to watch what happends as there is a call for heat. There may be a light on the control board that lights up or blinks to indicate a call for heat. The inducer blower (exhaust blower) will start. INn a few seconds after the blower starts, the igniter will glow orange. After a few more seconds the gas valve should open and the burner will ignite. If the inducer does not run, you may have a bad motor or control board. If the igniter does not glow, you could have a bad pressure switch, bad pressure switch hose or a broken igniter. If the gas valve does not open, you may have a bad control board or bad gas valve. If you get no light on control board, bad fuse, bad thermostat or bad control board.

My inducer comes on for 3seconds then shuts back off could there be something wrong with the pressure switch?

It begins its power-on cycle normally. First the updraft blower turns on for a bit, then the HSI glows bright orange, then the gas turns on and the flames ignite fully and the big blower turns on.
About 3 seconds after the gas ignites, it shuts off. That is the gas shuts off, the blower continues for about a minute then it shuts off. This cycle will repeat a few times, then usually after the second or third time everything stays on and works normally

No blinks normal running igniter glows gas comes on wont run

Check for 24 volts across the gas valve when Ignitor is glowing. If no, bad board. If yes, bad gas valve or blockage.
On a call for heat, the 24 volt thermostat sends a signal to the control module. The control module will indicate a call for heat with a light on the control either blinking or remain solid depending upon model. The inducer (exhaust) blower will purge all gasses from the furnace and pressurize a pressure switch. Once the pressure switch tells the module to continue, the electronic ignition will energize and send 120 volts to the igniter. The igniter will glow and you will be able to see it if viewed thru the small inspection port. Once the igniter gets hot enough, it sends a signal to the module opening up the gas valve (24 volts). Either a pilot will come on or the burner tube will ignite then spread the flame to all burners. Lastly a safety sensor will be looking for a certain temperature within a few seconds and the furnace will continue to operate and the room air blower will turn on in a minute or two.

What could go wrong? The unit will not run if there is no signal from the thermostat (bad thermostat or broken wire), the control module does not sense a signal from the thermostat (bad control), the inducer does not energize (bad motor), the pressure switch does not close (blocked vent piping, bad switch, plugged condensate hose), the igniter does not energize (bad control, bad igniter), the gas valve does not open or there is no gas (bad gas valve, broken wire, no gas), the pilot does not light (dirty pilot), the burner does not light (bad burner, plugged orifice, not enough combustion air), the flame does not spread to each burner (bad flame spreader, dirty flame spreader, more bad burners), the flame safety sensor does not detect flame (dirty or bad flame spreader, bad flame sensor, broken wire, bad control), or the room air blower does not energize (bad fan motor, bad control).

I have a coleman evcon furnace and it wont work it gives me a flash code of 1 what does it mean

One flash mean ignition failure. The sequence is: T-Stats calls for heat, inducer motor comes on, igniter glows orange (look through glass), then gas comes on and burner lights, approximately 1 minute later the indoor blower comes on. If you don't see the glow, most likely the igniter is bad. If you see the glow but no flame, it's a gas problem, supply or defective valve.

The exhaust blower starts for about 15 seconds then shuts off. several minutes later, the same thing happens - over and over

goodman furnance the exhaust fan starts, igniter glows hot, all burners lite up & will burn for about a minute and shuts down . I think it senses the room blower does not start so it shuts down.

Replace the two small round black solenoids located on the gas valvle. I just did it last week. They come in a set and only cost me $26.50. Easiest fix I've done. I was all set to go out and buy a new dryer.

Ignition failure code on

Sounding like a flame proving device is failing to sense flame. Try to clean the device with some steel wool. It is located right next to the last burner looks like a thick wire. Take the steel wool and gently rub the carbon that has built up off. Should only take 4 or 5 strokes. Let me know it that did it. Ken

Gas Dryer won't stay hot

There is a thermoelectric eye that says it is OK to keep the gas burner on. If this sensor is defective or blocked from "seeing" the gas flame is properly lit, it will turn off the gas flow (safety) override solenoid. With the unit unplugged make sure that the optical path on the upper right (1:30 CW position) flame tube inside sensor window is clean. The rattle you hear is probably the safety gas shut-off solenoid engaging. If you need more help, please ask -- SWT
