I have a Cannon D86 multi function copier. Just this morning I ran one copy through and went to run another and the alarm light came on followed by this System Error E000. I have already done the unplug for ten minutes thing suggested by the manual.

    Any Ideas?

A specific model and complete code is needed. The error could be numerous issues not only fuser. The fuser is the part of the machine that melts the toner on to the page before exiting the machine. Some fuser codes can be attributed to 'dirty power" in which case the code can be reset through machine diagnostics. Due to the fuser getting very hot, it has several components to control heat, and shut it off (error code) to protect from over heating. Depending on the model, the machine will have at least one thermostat (heat fuse) and a thermistor (monitors temp).
Please provide model number and entire code and I can give you the exact problem and part numbers if needed along with reset procedure.

I guess you have a Canon copies, but what model do you have?
E000 on must Canons is a fuser code. It is not getting hot. you may need to enter servive mode to clear the code first, then see if the lamps will on. if not it may be a fuse or bad lamp .....

The machine model or brand is not mentioned,
but if it is canon this code relates to heater [fuser} proplem

SOURCE: Error Msg E000

E000 is a fixing unit failure...either the thermistor or fixing lamp failed. Not sure about individual part replacement, most likely needs entire unit replaced....then reset the code.

Paper jam

You may need to make sure there are no small pieces of paper left in the machine. Unplug it and let it set for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in and let it reset itself. Sometimes a jam can bend some small metal parts and cause it to give an error message. Check for this also. It should clear the error out once unpluged. If it is hardwired into the wall then the breaker will have to be turned off for the same seconds. Hope this does the job for you, all copiers and printers can be a headache when you need them most.

Error button never go away after a paper jam

Sounds like you may still have a piece of paper in the printer. Open the toner door - take out the cartridge, reseat it and then close the door. If the error light stays on you probably have something stuck in the machine. You might need to power it off (unplug it) and then see if there's anything on the rollers.
