you can reflash your bios could also try running a windows live cd...

this is a cd that loads the windows platform from cd and doesnt involve the hd at all..doesnt help the fact you have no screen out though does it,

everything in(mem,hd etc)no beeps could be faulty vga/graphics card (reseat or replace) damaged cpu (remove /reseat)sys.drivers missing.(reinstall or repair os)

theres a program you can download free version called spotmau.the free version software could diagnose the exact problem.could be the screen(lcd) is dead.have you tried to load xp to see if theres any screen output.

with all devices in and no beeps at least tells u that vga and memory are ok ...

reason for no screen output can be be many things.

bios could be damaged(reflash it) hd could have bad sectors, the cpu could be damaged but u usually get signs well before this happens .I'll send u software to repair bios and hd ..hope it works for u because with no screen output you cant view menus ...

If that happens you have a bad cpu, possibly a burnt one, the pentium 4/centrino mobile cpus dont have the function that turns them of when they get hot, or it may be that your motherboard has a destroyed bios, and thats ufixable.

Its good that it beeps without the memory that means the mainboard is trying to boot. Make sure to try each ram chip individually in both sockets (if you have 2). If that gets nowhere I would try another CPU next.

Good luck!

Computer has power, hear the fan and HD trying to run however nothing happens, blank screen. Plugged in external monitor and still black screen

HP laptops have several problems with GPU overheating. Could also be a bad stick of RAM or a bad hard drive. You will need to remove each one and try to power on after each is removed. If still wont light up the screen you probably have a motherboard problem with the video chip (AKA: GPU processor)

D620 will power up. The lights come on, I can hear the cd Tom spin. But no hd light and no screen display. Plugging into a remote monitor also shows nothing. My first thoughts at hd or main board. Any...

Start taking your laptop apart piece by piece and test it after each removed component:
1. Remove the hard drive and test the laptop.
2. Remove the DVD drive and test the laptop.
3. Remove the wireless card and test the laptop.
4. Unplug the display panel from the motherboard/video card and test the laptop.
Continue taking it apart until you have only three major components connected: motherboard (with video card), processor, and memory. If you still experience the same problem, most likely it's bad motherboard.
By the way, before you start, try reconnecting the memory module. If you have two modules installed, try removing them one by one and test the laptop with each one separately.

I have an Acer Aspire 3680 and all i get is a black screen when i power up. it seems to get power, but nothing appears on the screen when you boot up. is it the graphics card or could it be a bigger issue?...

Do you hear any sounds?,.. see any LED lights? Do you see any way to know there is power to the laptop? Please provide more details so that you can get an answer that is somewhat accurate.
without any more information to go on,.. the problem could be motherboard, backlight, backlight inverter, power supply, dc power jack (in the laptop),.... and that is just the short list,.. Please provide more details to get a better answer

How do I know if my Directv HR22-100 HD receiver is dead?

one last thing you can do, if it doesnt work the dvr is dead. reset the dvr and wait for the hello screen and then the screen will go black. when it turns black, hold the down arrow (on the front of the dvr) and the record button for at least 5 secs. this will re-format the hard drive. if it doesnt work the dvr is dead

Dead pc

try to remove all external device connected to your computer. just leave the keyboad, mouse and monitor connected.
restart computer.
if still a blank screen
remove everything connected to your computer (mouse kyeboard and monitor) restart if nothing happens
open your computer and remove all devices (hard drive, optical drives, memory... restart,,, you should be hearing beeping sounds indicating motherboard is looking for memory. try putting back 1 memory at a time and checking all mem slot. to identify if one of the memory could be causing the blank screen. if both memory will not work try to use known good working memory. if you dont get to hear the beeping sound using a known good working memory. your memory is the problem.
give me more info
