Hi,
Have you tried taking the card out and trying to print the pictures or having them put on a CD? That is the first thing to try. Then go ahead and format the card. It might be a defective card but the only way to tell is to try the above suggestion.
Best wishes!

Try a different card reader/an external device.

If problem still persists. Unfortunantly your SD card is corrupt and needs formatting, If formatted you will lose all your dat ;(

Card is unreadable

Take out the card and transfer the photos to the computer. After you verify that your photos are safely on the computer, reinsert your card in the camera and proceed with the formating.

Card unreadable display and can't retrieve images on sd card!

If this were mine I would take it to Walmart or something similar and load the card into their photo machine to see if it says the same thing. If theirs won't read it the card is probably hosed and your photos are gone.

Memory Card Requires Formatting

Hey B418,
Formatting will delete all your pictures on your camera or memory card. The camera might be prompting you to format because the the camera's memory is full. To avoid losing your pictures I would connect your camera to a computer, download your images to your computer first, and then format the memory.

Sincerely,
Allan
