Question about Maytag Dryers

Open Question

I have a Maytag DE303. The dryer buzzes when the timed cycle is done, but the buzzer will not cut off unless you open the door. When I disconnect the buzzer, the dryer will not work at all. So either the dryer is on or the door is open. What needs to be done?

  • the buzzer is located under the control panel.
  • you can unplug it.
  • unplug the dryer or turn the breaker off first
  • then take out the 2 screws on both sides of the control panel
  • bull it forward toward you and unhook it from the case
  • you should see the buzzer with two wires going to it
  • only need to disconnect one.
  •  just make sure you wrap the bare wire connector with electrical tape to keep it from touching metal.

first check and make sure the power breaker is on. next the door when it closes there is a safety switch normaly there is a small hole around the frame of the door. when you push on it, you shoud hear a clicking noise. if you don"t, that switch will prevent the tumbler from turning another thing is the belt that goes around the tumbler if it's loose or broken the tumbler will not turn. that can be checked by accessing the bottom panel in the back the belt should be tight. good luck!

ok, there is a chance that a wire from the door switch has come loose when she close the door. unplug dryer, take front panel off and check wires at door switch. you may have 3 wires, one on one side and 2 on the other. the single wire is the common, on the other side one is for the dryer operation the other for the end of cycle which can be use for a buzzer or cavity light.

I have a Maytag dryer (Model MDE2600)and the buzzer will not go off unless the door is opened. Buzzer begins when door is closed.

Hi

Buzzer comes on because the control senses that the door is not closed and won't start the cycle. This issue is caused by door switch-latch assembly (part#6 and part#9 in this diagram) that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Push the timer to a definate off position. Close the door. If it buzzes then more than likely you are getting power from the timer which could mean short in the timer. If you have the model # the parts places can easily find your parts.

I want to turn off or disconnect the "finished cycle Buzzer".

That buzzer can easily be defeated so that baby won't wake up or paw paw! LOL! It is located near the control up top. A small black box with 2 wires going to it.
