You have a restriction in the return of the unit. This also leads to sanitation issues. Pull the bottom basket, remove the lower arm and using a screw driver, remove the return cover. Clean out any obstruction and reassemble. If you are still having problems, your pump may be worn to the point it will not remove all the water at the end of the cycle.

Why will my dishwasher Electrolux model #EIDW5905JS0A, not drain completely at the end of its cycle.

Good Morning Friend,

I understand your Electrolux dishwasher, model# EIDW5905JS, will not completely drain at the end of the cycle. It is not normal for water to remain in the bottom of the tub at the end of a cycle. If water remains in the bottom of the tub at the end of a cycle, the dishwasher may not be draining properly. Please follow these troubleshooting tips:

1)If unit is hooked up to a garbage disposal, make sure the disposer is empty.

2)If unit is hooked up to a new food waste disposer, check to see if the "knockout" plug located inside the disposal inlet has been removed.

3)Check to see if drain hose is kinked.

4)Make sure cycle is complete, not in a pause.

I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

After running a load of dishes, water remains standing in the bottom of the dishwasher. It is approximately one-half inch deep. I had an appliance repairman out and he thought he had fixed it, but he...

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

As the water did not drain completely then check the drain hose & drain pump filter for any clogs/obstructions, if you have already cleaned these parts and the unit will not work then replacing the drain pump is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Water is not draining completely from the dishwasher. About 1-2 inches remain in the bottom. Seems to drain most of the water during the wash cycle, but a bit remains. Thoughts on how to fix this?

either the check valve on the end of the drain hose that connects to the drainpump motor is closed shut or sometin is clogged inside the drain hose..... also maybe you pump motor assmbly is faulty... u prob need wet/dryshop vac and drain it out from inside then check that hose... hope this helps... possibly may need to replace that drain hose,,, prob not worth reparing if its a pump motor depending on which brand some had 5 yr part warranties on the pump motor assembly

We have a Jenn-Air dishwasher. The water does not fully drain when washing cycle is complete. Roughly 1/2 to 3/4 inch of water remains. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Check the that the drain hose is not kinked in any way under the counter and leading to the garbage disposal. Also check that the port in the garbage disposal is not partially restricted, or that the kitchen drain is not slower than normal.
I had the slow drain issue recently, and it would take the dishwasher forever to complete a cycle.

Standing water at end of cycle

It is normal for a small amount of water to remain after each loadof dishes is cleaned.

Is the water clear or cloudy?
Is there an odor?

How deep is the water? Less the two inches?

Post back with your findings here. OK?
