Try unplugging the controller to see if it's a glitch in the contoller. If not you probably do not have enough gas running to it so it can't heat the water fast enough due to lack of gas

We have a problem with our Rinnai 24 hot water service. Hot water goes hot and cold. Does not keep to 38 degrees temperature when showering.

Do You know if there is an anti scald valve in the shower valve? If so it may be scald up with corrosion and need replaced! To see if this could be the problem, flush the toilet next to the shower while the shower is running. If temperature changes in shower I would say that is your problem! If You need to replace it, it would be cheaper to do it yourself! They should be videos on Youtube on how to do it! Good Luck! Regards!

Water heaters by Rheem have not changed that much over the years. the link below will give you some good information about electric water heaters in general. As water heaters age, the heating element will lose efficiency due to deposits and general build-up of minerals in the tank. Turning up the temp may not be a good idea since the problem is actually caused by a coating on the element. Also make sure that cold water is not bleeding into shower valves thru other single lever faucets. While shower is running, listen to and feel the water lines connected to sink faucets in other rooms for water transferring thru valve. You can actually hear water running at faucet while shower is on if faulty. If other vaucet valves are leaking thru, repair those first before you do anything to the water heater as that is cause of loss of hot water. Good luck.

6 gal tank puts out only about 2 gal of very hot water. ADoes the same whether on gas or with electric hot rod.

Have you tried it with both (hot rod and Gas ) turned on at same time? Is tank well insulated? (looking from behind tank.)
Does temperature drop off quickly, or gradually? Did it supply hot water better before, or this is first time you really measured it out? Need to keep in mind that as hot goes out the top fitting to hot lines, cold is coming in the bottom fitting and beginning to mix with hot, which obvioulsy will cause hot to gradually become warm as it enters. 2 gallons out hot tap, 2 gals., at bottom of tank, then mixing as it flows in usually equals, about 2 gal or less of warm, then cold again. Get many complaints of only enough for a short shower when they have 6 gal tank. You can try adjusting temperature up a little to see if it helps. Keep an eye on pressure relief valve dripping excessively as well as shut pump off for 20min-30 min, then turn it back on before touching any taps, to see if it cycles at all, indicating a leak in the system. If pump doesn't cycle when turned back on, no leaks.

My bosch instantaneous water gets cold when i shower

There are several things you can do to fix the problem.
1.You can turn the temperature up on the water heater.
2. Turn the maximum temperature setting all the way up on your shower faucet.
3. Clean the Bosch tank-less unit by flushing it with vinegar.
4. Remove the flow restrictor from your shower-head.

Temperature in shower too hot. what need's to be

Hi, its probably just the filter to the cold supply needs cleaning; these can get clogged from time to time. Turn your water off, remove unit, unscrew the water pipes which should be the silver flexi type and washout the mesh filters.
Hope this has helped.

Water temperature varies while useing the hot water during a normal shower. jg

Try this before replacing the shower diverter valve.

If this problem is isolated to the shower only, then I would suggest that the shower diverter valve is equipped with an "Anti-scald" safety feature that can not be adjusted, however the temperature regulator/thermostat on the water heater can be adjusted to a lower temperature so as to not activate the the "Anti-scald".

if it is electric remove the metal plate that is about 1/3 from the top usually colored blue or whitethere is pull dome of the insulation out fof the way you will see red and blue wires going into the element and a plastic cover underneath the cover is a setting with an indicator it is usually adjustable with a thin flat head crew driver the indicator has high medium and low temp setting

Just turn indicator to temp desired

good luck
