I have that Philips TV and I can't make out the part number on an IC that is burn so bad. I really would like to have a dirgram of the set. But since I can't find that then it is just replace to part, if I can get the part number. That Part is located on the board 31391235667 or that what is on the board, and there is a paper that have 3139 188 51101 which I don't understand. Located on this board is an IC of some kind about an Inch long. It is attched to the biggest heat sink in the set, that heat sink is almost 3" long and about an inch high. There is a 12 pin IC connected to that heat sink which is burn, and smoke when the set is turned on. and thats the probllem.

A white horizontal line on a tv is an indication that your vertical circuit is defective. Very common for the vertical IC to go bad. The fuse in a TV set is only there to keep your house from burning down if there is a problem. Your set has a problem. In my area repair should cost you about 100 to 120$. Tube Tv sets have about 5 years of expected life. I would invest my money in a new LED set.
The only reset for this unit is to unplug for 15 - 20 minutes but it will still hold all of the previous settings. This set has a eeprom memory chip which does not change. The only way to completly start over is to install a new eeprom. This is an 8 pin IC found beside the main micro processor. IC 346 is the location number. Thanks for using fixya and best regards.
vertical output ic needs to be resoldered. careful leaving that bright line displayed on the screen as this will cause a permanent phosphor burn into the tube. this can not be corrected once burned unless you replace the tube. mch
Mark, if red & blue are seperated from the normal image then the convergence circuit has failed, this means the IC`s will have to be removed and replaced as well as any resistors that may have burned when the chip(s) went bad, the alignment that must be performed after the new IC`s are installed can be a pain especially without the service manual, I`d advise a tech for this one, video-tek
As you say that it works for 5-10 minutes it clearly indicates that all parts are 100% ok.
problem is loose contact mostly in power supply& IF IT IS OK then loose contact in horizontal section.
