There is a big serrated washer that engages the plastic cogs to make the 4wd work.Either the magnet is not pulling in the washer or your white plastic cogs are broken.I have had my 2005 700 apart. If you are mechanically inclined it will take a a good 1.5 hrs to get it all apart to inspect it.
Likely a foreign object is blocking up the grinder. Remove all beans and
run at coarsest grind to try to clear it, chase it through with more
beans if necessary. If this does not clear it then the top burr of the
grinder assembly can be removed after disassembling the machine. Mark
the grinder coarseness cogs before moving them to assist reassembly.
Moderately difficult procedure.
sometimes this is just a simple trask of cleaning the ink off the rails of the ink carriage.try that first and see if it rectifies the grinding sound. also check that you have not got soemthing stuck in the cogs on the R side of the platten roller mechanism
There should be screws on the side or the bottom of the unit that will allow you to pull it apart. The problem seems to be that the two grinding wheels have gone bad and needs to be replaced. On this unit you cannot adjust the grinding as far as would need to be to fix the problem when the teeth get to small
the lens mechanism is not initialising, the cogs that move the lens are out of alignment slightly. you colud try and fix this yourself by taking the camera apart and realigning it manually, or sometimes you can get hold of the prodtruding lens and gently pull, be carefull !! you might hear a grinding noise as you pull this is just the main lens cog turning. once fully out put batterys back in and give it a go
