Computer kicks off internet connection

I have to go to Local area network connections in Computer Panel and click on Repair in the support tab to get the internet back on the computer.

Can connect to local but not Internet?
This is most likely due to a driver issue other than a settings issue. First off, if you are running your computer in selective startup, change it back to normal startup and reboot. If this clears the problem then great, you can go back to selective startup but be careful as to what services you shut down.
The easiest way to check if this is a driver issue is to update the driver for the device. This can be done at the Device Manager found in the control panel, (In XP, the device manager is in the “system” icon and under the hardware tab). Scroll down to the network adapters and click on the + sign. Double click on the adapter and choose to update driver, let it search the internet (windows update) if it wants to, if it finds an updated driver, allow it to install. If it does not find an updated driver, then maybe the driver you have is a recent one but it may be corrupt. If that is the case, then it would be better to right click on the adapter and choose uninstall, this will force windows to reinstall the device the next time it reboots, and again it will ask to search online for a fresh driver, choose yes and let it run. Once the device installs, try to connect to the internet.

HOW TO CHANGE IP ADDRESS


To change your network IP address in Windows XP, Vista, or 7:
1. Press the Windows Key and R
2. Type command and press Enter. This loads your DOS prompt
3. Type ipconfig /release then press Enter. This disables your internet connection
4. Go to your desktop, and right-click on something called Network Place or My Network Places (If you're using Windows Vista or 7, look for the Network and Sharing Center through Control Panel)
5. Click Properties. You should now see something called Local Area Connection or something similar
6. Right-click on your connection (titled Local Area Connection if you're using an ethernet cable or Wireless Network Connection if you're on WiFi) and click Properties
7. Under the General tab, double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
8. A new window appears. On its own General tab, click the box beside Use the following IP address
9. Type in ones until you fill the box up (it should read 111.111.111.111)
10. Press Tab. You'll notice the Subnet Mask section automatically fill sup with numbers
11. Click OK
12. Click OK to bring you back to the "Local Area Connection" screen
13. Right-click Local Area Connection and Click on Properties again
14. Again, under the General tab, double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
15. Select Obtain an IP address automatically
16. Click OK
17. Click OK
18. Go back to your DOS prompt, type "ipconfig /renew" and press Enter. This restores your internet connection.
By now, the network should've assigned a new IP address to your computer automatically.

Hi,

To enable Internet Connection Sharing on a network connection

You must be logged on to your computer with an owner account in order to complete this procedure.
Open Network Connections. (Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double–click Network Connections.)

Click the dial–up, local area network, PPPoE, or VPN connection you want to share, and then, under Network Tasks, click Change settings of this connection.

On the Advanced tab, select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection check box.
If you want this connection to dial automatically when another computer on your home or small office network attempts to access external resources, select the Establish a dial–up connection whenever a computer on my network attempts to access the Internet check box.

If you want other network users to enable or disable the shared Internet connection, select the Allow other network users to control or disable the shared Internet connection check box.

Under Internet Connection Sharing, in Home networking connection, select any adapter that connects the computer sharing its Internet connection to the other computers on your network. The Home networking connection is only present when two or more network adapters are installed on the computer.


To configure Internet options on your client computers for Internet Connection Sharing

Open Internet Explorer. Click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Internet Explorer.)

On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.

On the Connections tab, click Never dial a connection, and then click LAN Settings.

In Automatic configuration, clear the Automatically detect settings and Use automatic configuration script check boxes.

In Proxy Server, clear the Use a proxy server check box.

Check if the internet Cable At back of the Computer is properly connected.

Repair the Internet connection..
Click Start Then Control panel After that
Click 'Network and Internet Connection' Then 'Click Network Connections',
Double 'Click on Local Area Connection' Hit Support Then Click Repair.

If the Solution Wont work.
Call Your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

If you have Windows XP then try this, for Windows 7 and Vista also the procedure is similar. If you have Vista or 7 then tell me I'll post the tutorial for that also.
  1. In Windows XP, click the Start button and select Control Panel.

  2. Click the Network and Internet Connections category.

  3. Note: If you are using Classic View, you will see the control panel icons instead of categories. Double-click the Network Connections icon.

  5. Double-click Local Area Connection, listed under LAN or High-Speed Internet.

  6. When the Local Area Connection Status window is displayed, click the Properties button.

My internet isnt c0onnecting... i just installed vista.. and its saying there is no network hardware installed or configured... i dont know whats wrong plz help ... thanks


  1. Click Start , and type Recovery Manager in the Search field. Click Recovery Manager when it appears in the menu options.
  2. Click Advanced options .
  3. Select Hardware program re-installation and click Next .
  4. On the Welcome window, click Next .
  5. When prompted to recover a hardware driver shipped with the computer, select Yes and click Next .
  6. From the list of drivers, select the proper driver, and click Next .
  7. Allow the PC to re-install the driver, and when prompted to restart the computer, select Finish
  8. For a PC with Vista
    1. Click Start , enter Network and Sharing in the search field, and then select Network and Sharing Center from the list.
    2. Select Manage network connections in the left panel of the Network and Sharing Center window. The Network connections window appears.
    3. If the status of your Local Area Connection is disabled , right-click the Local Area Connection icon and select Enable .
    4. Right-click the Local Area Connection and select Properties .
    5. On the Networking tab, select the IP Protocol (TCP/IP) connection and click Properties .
    6. On the General tab, verify that both the Obtain an IP address automatically , and the Obtain DNS server address automatically options are selected, and then click OK to accept the values.
    7. Restart the computer.

1. check first your lan connections,
click start, go to control panel, click network connections din check your local area connection.
2. right click the local area connection, then try to disable and enable it.
3. if not been solved,

try to look the driver of your ethernet drivers

look at and search your motherboard's brand and model then search it and download for your drivers for your network adapter.

  1. Restart the computer.
  2. Test the jack.
  3. Test the equipment.
    1. Try a different jack that you know works.
    2. Try a different cable that you know works.
  4. Check your computer settings.
  5. Renew your IP Address
    1. [x] Windows Vista
      1. Look for your Ethernet card:
        1. Right-click on My Computer from the Start Menu or on the desktop.
        2. Left-click on Properties.
        3. Click on Device Manager on the left side under "Tasks".
        4. Expand the Network Adapters and look for any yellow exclamation points. Make sure a card is listed.
