Question about Clarion DC625 6-Disc CD Changer

1 Answer

2007 Nissan Armada

Thanks for the possibile solution. Can you reto-fit the radio that I have (AM/FM/XM/ 6 cd changer) with the radio that has the nav built into it. This unit has a completely different display (touch screen type) and so far to my knowledge, there have been no complaints on this radio. I guess you can also hook up a rear camera if you want. Is it possible to reto the nav radio?

Thanks,

Thank you for the info. I believe the AM/FM radio runs off an antenna that is in the back window. The XM runs off an antenna the on the roof. When adding the nav, do I have to add an antenna or does it split off the XM? Do you know where I could get a wiring diagram for that set up? I would think Nissan would have the correct dash parts. But who knows. Do you have any possible solutions to my display problem? The display unit only displays 8 characters most of the time when using XM. Sometimes the full 16 appear, but not very often. Any solution to this one?

    Thanks

Yes you can. The one thing that may have to change is the main fuse if you put them together on the same live wire. You can also run a direct line from battery for the live wire. As for fitting it in the dash, you may get lucky to find a kit for this setup but you will probably need to make something yourself. Nissan may have a kit like this though. I am not sure if I answered your question yet. If you have any other questions, feel free and I will do my best to answer them.

Since your far is under warranty, I think its best if you contact Nissan. They will have many different wiring diagrams and probably installation kits for this setup so you would do very little wiring on your end. Nissan may need to replace your XM system regarding the display. It may be beneficial to have them do the installation for you at the same time. This way, no warranty gets voided and the results to will be guaranteed as well.

I believe that is what Nissan would do by replacing the whole unit. It depends on what warranty they cover but you would void it by doing it yourself. It depends on the people at Nissan if they choose to replace only the head unit or the entire system.

Will the Audiovox SP-6cds hook to an Audiovox GM250 radio?

Yes - the radio has cd changer controllers.
The Changer is FM modulated - and the radio becomes the controller.

2008 Hyundai Azera XM radio "not ready"

I had the same problem. My 2008 Hyundai Azera had 37,800 and my wife went over a speed bump the XM radio went off and displayed "Not Ready". I raised the hood, pulled the negative battery cable for about a minute, replaced it and fixed the problem. Only issue is, this happens every couple of days. I'll probably continue to do this till my xm subscription runs out then to heck with it.

2007 CRV AM/FM radio works fine but CD player does'nt work

Sounds like the CD changer is defective, sometimes the dealer will offer a "one time goodwill" repair when it is out of warranty for miles but not for the time period. Check with the dealer where you purchased the car.

I have a 2006 Yukon xl Denali with the Bose radio/ Navigation and separate 6 disc cd changer. The am/fm radio works fine, but when using XM, the channels get stuck and have to be turned manually.

generally it would just need to be reset... unhook the battery for about ten minutes and hook it back up. make sure you have the unlock code for the radio FIRST and you know how to enter it.
