Hello,

The LG 194WT monitor is basically the same unit as the LG 196WTQ and both models use the same power supply board. When the parts called capacitors start to fail on the power supply board you get the symptoms that you have - Either no power, a flashing power light, slow to show a picture or a wavy picture. This is a easy fix, you will just need to replace the 6 bad capacitors on the power supply board. Here is a link to a repair guide for the L196WTQ that should help you get yours going. The boards are the same so the repair will be too.

I hope this helps,

Same problem as above. Had mine for 2.5 years and worked fine until I tried to turn it on this morning - won't come on at all. I have tried another power cable and verified that another monitor works on the old one.

My 2008 Jeep Wrangler is continually beeping 3 times. It's below 0 temperatures outside. Although my battery may be low, it starts up normally. How do I make it stop beeping?!

0F? is cold.
but not too cold
seems your battery is weak, no?
and that means its at the end of its normal life span.
just about now. is that time. 8 years, avg. life of a battery
lowest ive ever had sine 1964 is 3 years, and longest in my whole life is 11years (it was a reclamed bat too... amazing in an XJ jeep)

if you hear the starter motor turns slow
that means the battery is weak (or wrong engine oil in the engine)
if you jump start it, using jumper cables, AAATOW truck style.
and it cranks fast, then you battery is weak
so I charge mine, with a thing called a battery charger.
if it still cranks slow then you now know why, the battery ghost is leaving the nest, the magic is draining out.
or EOL , end of life, is here on IT.
no battery in any car lasts the life of any car.
7 years, is good avg.
same as the thermostat.

why not tell your mechanic to fix it.
or drive to walfart and say , test it , they will and will tell you
nero, thumbs up or thumbs down in 5 min work !!!
they have this cute tool there that does that, with zero skills.
connect up, push button and the brain box tells them whats up.
or the alternator is bad. or weak, yes, parts come in
good, bad and weak, a FACT.
or there is a drain, called a phantom drain.

not one of these can we guess, we do tests, using tools
and the results fall where they may, fate.

My 500-A Ups is making Buzzing sound.

APC 500VA ups meant for 1 Desktop and one montiro it will have battery backup for 10 to 15 minutes for the above.

Normally, You should make the raw power connected to UPS should be always ON.

The power cables of CPU and Monitor is connected with UPS. When not in use, please press the Button available on the UPS.

The UPS Life is normally 2 to 3 Years only. Now you are getting the sound and Red Light will always blink and not allow to use the system.

Better replace the 12 Vols battery to get some more life for the UPS.

And check for any loose connection of the power cables connected with Raw Power and UPS System.

What has happened is part of your back lighting circuitry has gone out. Yes it is repairable but can cost most of what a replacement monitor will cost these days. Check that out before spending the money. If the problem is only in the back lighting circuit then expect to spend about $100 for a replacement board.

LCD monitors lifespan depends on the quality. Normal use and you should get 2-3 years of reliable service minimum. The display itself is good for about 4000 or so hours of use or more. The problems that show up are always (well 99.99% of the time) are back lighting problems like you have experienced. You should turn it off by the switch when not using it as every hour it runs the screen save is an hour of usable life. Heat is not good for it so if your computer gets the dust cleaned out to keep it cool do the monitor at the same time. Once a year at least more if you smoke use gas heat and have pets.

Tube monitors have a much longer life but you have the size weight and poorer display to go with them. If you have to go back to a tube monitor don't go back to your 14 ask around and you should be able to get a 17 or 19 crt for free. Or expect to pay no more than $10-20 for one.

My monitor won't turn on?

If there is no power at all then it is either the power cable or the power supply board inside the monitor.

The part must be tested before replacement.

Faulty monitor after one year

Hi Shirley,

In Singapore, Acer monitor is 3 years warranty.

If the your monitor is out-of-warranty, please consider replacing. It is cheaper than repair.

Performance life is normally around 2.5 yrs ++. Normal faults is due to manufacturing defects.

NO PICTURE OR SOUND

Hi
Usually, if the red light is flashing and you get no picture, that means that the lamp life cycle is finished and you'll have to get a replacment lamp. the lamp has about 3000 hours of life (2 to 3 years under nomal use).

You can buy a replacment lamp from here

Hope this helps

Monitor won't turn on without help.

Do you have a second monitor or can you borrow one to check if the fault lies with the monitor or the PC?

If the monitor is at fault then there is not much you can do yourself. I suggest you contact Dell and get them to replace it under warranty. Most LCD monitors have a 3 year warrantly, at least they do in the UK.

cheers

David8 - Capacitor change was perfect solution

I'm not a 100% sure on how long it will last you, but I doubt your monitor will go over 185F degrees even while running all day and since it's a higher voltage it wont get blown as easily. I only changed mine a few weeks ago, but some other guy who did the same said he's has been working for like a year now without any problems. I think they'll last longer than the originals.
