I have a GE Profile Arctica side by side. The top quarter of the freezer is above 32 degrees. I know that because all the ice in the ice maker has melted and icicles are forming down below. This happened once before, about 2 months ago. We emptied out the freezer, got rid of all the icicles and it started working again. My guess is that there is a circulation issue, but I don't remember there being a fan in the freezer. Can someone give me a suggestion?

There is a fan in the freezer, in the evap area. If fan is not working (check by opening door, holding in on door switch(s) and wait a few min. and see if it come on) then either fan is shorted or ice buildup is blocking fan blade.

This refrig has a problem at times with defrost heater, check this by seeing if there is frost buildup on rear inside wall of freezer. I would suspect that this is your problem. If frost is building up on rear wall then no air will circulate within freezer or frig.

Greetings,

This freezer coil is likely froze over. this is because its stopped its automatic defrost. The thing to do is remove freezer panal and see if evaporator is froze over. if so, derost it..this will give you temp service. there is a fan midway in freezer..its possible its not running as well and this is the problem. see if fans coming on while you have it apart.

Not above 10 degrees F. Any higher and many ice makers won't work.

GE Profile Arctica PSS25SGNA BS Icemaker is not working seems to be filling with water but no ice.

The water dispenser and ice maker side run separate sides of the water control valve. Fill ice maker with tap water and let it freeze. If it dumps the ice then does not refill then the water control valve is the problem. I will be back soon with a photo and some links, Thanks, Sea Breeze
