Basically some causes of blue screen is the RAM check the RAM remove first maybe it is clogged by the dust. Remove the dust of the memory stick and insert it back to you computer. Usually of you have this problem again you need a recovery disk. Load a windows CD to your CD drive you need to boot and repair the windows.

Did you try booting from Mac OS CD and running Disk First Aid from Disk Utility?

The blue screen shows because the hard drive is not being accessed, probably because the system folder is corrupted. I had the same problem. I inserted the Snow Leopard CD install disc and restarted the Mac using the power button. It tried to eject the CD upon restart, but I pushed it back in and held down the Option button and waited for it to start up. A screen appears that shows both the CD ROM and the hard drive. Click on the CD ROM and hit the right arrow. If the CD ROM doesn't show at first, hit the curved arrow, and the CD ROM icon will appear. Click on it and then the right arrow and the Mac will restart on the startup disc. If the hard drive icon does not show up on the desktop after restart, you will have to erase and reinstall the Snow Leopard OS, which means that you will lose all your data. However, I'm sure that won't be a problem because you have backed everything up using Time Machine, right?

My powerbook G4 froze with flyspin going.. I shut it down but when I restarted it it went to a blue screen with no activity. Clearly it is not starting up OS X. Any ideas what to do?

Boot it into single-user mode holding down Command(Apple) and S buttons when powering up. Then in terminal console, use chkdsk -fy. Use it and use it again until comes back with something like "Volume appears to be OK". Then use command: mount -uw / and then type reboot and try booting normally.

My powerbook G4 will not startup... All that appears on the screen when I try to turn on my computer is a tiny folder with a question mark on it. The mouse pad is nonresponsive.

Computer cannot find operating system files. Start up from Install Disk or Utility disk and re-install system. Hold down C key while starting from disk.

This happens, and unless your startup disk is locked up and needs some swap space, it's just a matter of a screen whose time has come.

Powerbook g4 going to white screen only!!

Do you have any external harddrive attached to it? If so, remove it before restarting. Try to start it up in safe mode by holding the Shift button down at startup: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455

My powerbook g4 wont start

Your computer is booting into single user mode.

Try to boot from the CD the computer shipped with.

Insert CD and restart the computer holding the "c" key
Your computer should boot.

If so run disk utility from the cd and repair the disk as well as permissions.
If this is successful your computer "should" be repaired. If it still has problems booting, Use your CD to perform a Archive and install which should keep all your personal settings and installed software intact.
