Question about Maytag Atlantis MDE7400AY Electric Dryer
The noise you describe sounds to me like maybe you have a belt that is slipping when you are starting to dry your clothes. If this is so, then it may not be long before you will have to replace the belt because it will break, or burn in half.
Or you could have drum rollers that need lubrication.
If it is drum rollers and you have a front loading machine, you can remove the front of the machine, this will expose the drum and belt, remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers.
Lubricate the drum rollers at the shaft with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil.
I hope this helps
