hmmm...with that, it's more a power supply issue, since that's what's needed for that..
I have a copy of the service manual, if you want. Send me a note through my profile's email addy, and I'll see if you can get that one(It's an adobe pdf document)

I would try downloading and using the print drivers for the Xerox Phaser 6300/6350. I am almost positive that the Dell 5100cn is a rebranded Phaser printer. The print engine should be compatible, but I do not have an Imac to test this on for you before offering the solution.

The new magenta cartridge you put in is bad. If you put the old one back in then you get the low toner message. Take the new cartridge back and get another new one. I found the answer on the dell troubleshoot website

You can see the colors printed on this printer in three different methods. Well, there may be more, but I'll discuss three.
First, there is a menu screen on the printer. you can choose to print a test page from this menu. It should print in all the available colors.
Second, you can open the printers folder on your computer. Find this specific printer and look at its properties (right click, properties). Under the General tab, found in the lower right corner, there is a button to print a test page. This test page is a WINDOWS test page, and will display come of the colors on the Windows logo.
Third, you can open your favorite picture, whether it is one you took with your camera or a sample picture in the operating system. Click File, Print, and be sure the Dell printer is selected.
