SOURCE: lamp and power flashing amber

The problem is the lamp driver, it can be repalced by dell for $250 plus parts. The specific problem is a capacitor on the driver board, if you know someone who can work on electronics have them replace the 3300u 10v capacitor on the lamp driver board. Usually the capacitor will be slightly bulged on the top (not flat) indicating it needs replacing. Otherwise look for a electronics repair shop in your area and set them in the right direction. Hope that helps.

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed LG monitors to get some ideas what to look for:
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

SOURCE: I have a Dell 1800

The projector can fail to start and the power and temp lights will blink orange. This is a known problem with the Dell 1800MP projectors caused by a failed capacitor in the power supply. You can fix it yourself if you know how to use a soldering iron and have some experience with electronics. There are other posts on the Internet that show or point you to the repair. Search on Dell 1800MP power supply failure. If not willing to attempt the repair, I will repair these projectors for you at a cost of $40 plus actual shipping from me to you. You would pay the shipping cost to me. Considering the effort it takes to repair one of these units, this is a fair price. Dell charges $250 for the repair plus parts. I have repaired numerous of these units with 100% success. My occupation is working as a power supply designer for one of the largest manufacturers of drivers for LED lighting.

Hi, if the power indicator flashes 4x blue more then likely its a SDR buffer logic board. When you take the back cover off they are the long boards on the left side of the tv. There are 2 boards. If you look closely at the black chips on the boards which there should be 8 on each. If you see a burn mark or a deep scratch mark then the chip is fried. If you take the lower one of and turn the tv on it might come on and if not try the top one. Please rate me and let me know how you do.

Hitachi HDP J 52 Projector

These small fans are prone to failure; try to access the blades to see if they are being impeded by accumulated dust and also push gently on the blades, left then right, to see if there is any wobble of the shaft.
The fan probably has a sleeve bearing and these are prone to wear and also to stick.
