My yellow cymbal is not working on my guitar hero drum set for wi

We switched the cymbals and the cymbal itself works but guitar hero. com told us it must be the wire then. We no longer have a warranty so he mentioned splicing the wire to fix it. Anyone done this yet.

The guy said the warrenty had expired. You can find various tutorials on fixing the wiring at http://5frets.com/guitar-hero-repair-guides/. This is a great recourse and I encourage you to donate.
Good Luck.

It is a wiring problem that occured with a certain number of this product.
Send it back to the company who manufactures this game, or your stockist who you bought the game from and they should give you advice on the next step.
The problem is the wiring, and should be fixed/replaced free.

Need to hook up cymbals for Guitar Hero World Tour

Turn over each cymbal. They are marked L for Left (Yellow) and R for Right (Orange) Each cymbal has a mini phone jack located along one side of the base that the mini phone plug that comes out of the adjustable cymbal support column needs to be plugged into. The jack on the back of the console, above the one marked PEDAL, is NOT for the cymbal.

Cymbal Wire Broken Issue: I got the same problem as many. My kid pulled the Guitar hero cymbal wire and it ripped out of the rt angle mono jack connector. After reading on the net I purchased a replacement...

I don't know if you resolved this problem yet but I had the same issue because my kid decided to twist the cymbals backwards and ripped both wires. I just bought a pair of used cymbal wires on Ebay for about $10 which included shipping. Other sellers are selling new wires for about $15-$20 each. The wires worked great. There is some labor required though but it's pretty simple. First you have to take all the screws out from the bottom so you can take the whole drumhead set off. Then disconnect each wire and plug the new one in. It might be easier to do them one at a time so you don't forget where each one goes. There is no soldering necessary. Hope this helps.
