They should stop onnce they dry out, if not you have managed to short out the spark module
this should be replaced by a service tech

My GE Monogram gas range will not light. The igniter keeps going off but the gas will not light.

Hi, sometimes cooking spills stop the ignitor from working. Clean the cook top thoroughly and try it again. Spills can also make the ignitor go off randomly when you are not operating your cooker. Check if the ignition point where the zap comes from is not turned or bent too far from its original position. If you have a gas shut off make sure it is fully open to supply enough gas. If all else fails buy a cheap hand held ignitor to start your gas stove. If the cause is a spill which sometimes the problem can persist even after cleaning it may take a while for it to work again. If the problem is with all six burners then your ignitor probably needs replacing. When you hear the ignitor zap check to see if the electronic zap appears to jump across to the edge of the burner. If it doesn't it will not light the flame no matter how many times you try. I hope this helps you.

Oven does not work, no gas smell. The stove top still works. What is it??

most likely you need to replace the ignitor, open the oven door, remove the racks and the bottom floor and you'll see the ignitor, put oven on 350 and the flame should lite in around 30 to 40 seconds, any longer you have a bad ignitor, open the draw under the oven door and look around the opening and you'll see a tag with the model and serial numbers.call your parts store, give them the model number and they'll give you the correct ignitor.you can check with a meter first to see if the ignitor is bad but this is a common problem,a spill over or just from normal use can damage the ignitor.

Electronic ignitors won't stop clicking

Pull the burner caps, etc off the stove and completely dry the area ..Be sure to inspect each ignitor contact for cleanliness as well. If the ignitors have soapy buildup or water, around them, they can act like this.
You should be able to pull the burner caps and flame diffusers off and clean with a paper towel, and if needed, a light scouring sponge. Be careful not to scratch the surfaces, but scour the top of the ignitors carefully if you need to clean them.

We have a GE free-standing range top. I spilled water everywhere when my pot overflowed, and the clicking noise will not stop. All burners burn though, what to do?

This is a very common problem when moisture comes in contact with the ignitor. The ignitor sometimes stays in one position causing the clicking sound. it will eventually wear itself out. Best thing to do is try to take it apart, clean it, dry it and adjust it if necessary. If that doesn't work for you, then the ignitor may have to be replaced. Good luck

The front burner won't light.

I assume the other burners are lighting and the spark ignitor is working - if so try cleaning in and around the burner. a spill could have caused this problem. this should be a sealed burner model - if so make sure the burner top cap is on and seated correctly and or not gunked up with a spill. also check to make sure

Stove top burners won't light.

Susan, there is no pilot flame on the Spectra models of ranges. However, the possibility that the electronic ignitors have gotten soaked and are shorting out is quite likely.

You should disconnect the power to the oven and remove the burner grates, burner caps, and the burner assembly cores to expose the ignitor posts. Check to see if there is any remaining water there and clean off and dry the ignitors and burners completely, as they might have something on them causing them to short out against the stove top, rather than spark properly, as they should.

Once you've cleaned and replaced the stove top parts, restore power and try to light each burner, one at a time. If none of them spark or light, then you need to check to make sure you haven't tripped a breaker for the stove or a GFCI outlet that the outlet that the stove might be plugged into, somewhere in the Kitchen.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Range top ignitor stopped working. electronic panel and oven work normally. Any idea what the problem is?

Hi, your spark module, for ignitor could be damage, sometimes they burnt out, or could be broken wires, or corrosion at electrical connection, (terminal) , normally it's spark module, that's faulty or burnt out. let mechanic check. or remove range plug from receptacle, and lift top of range, check all electrical wiring, check all connection for rust (corrosion) clean and retry range, if it didn't work, call mechanic to check spark module. good luck.

Ignitors wont shutoff

The common way to control the ignitors is a cam on the individual shafts acting on a 'normally open' switch that is depressed in the ignition position. One of these switches has failed and no longer able to return to its normally open condition.
You may be able to locate the defective one by 'exercising' each control back and forth past the ignition position to see if one of them will cause the ignitor to stop. You may have had a spill that has allowed food liquids to gum up the switch.

Ignitors keep firing by themselves after my aunt cleaned them 24 hours ago After she did the major cleaning of the stove I used the oven and it worked fine. I lit a burner (Probably front?) and the left...

Apparently there was a water spill around the burner control knob and in the burner itself; We ran the burner to create heat and then turned it off and let the water dry out and evaporate from the burner and igniter area.
