Get ahold of a plumbers snake, disconnect the hose and run it through unclogging it .
Undo hose and see if there is suction right at the socket where the hose plugs into to see if there is suction there.

Inside the place where the bag goes, at the bottom there is a motor dust filter, see if it is clogged.

Also at the beatter brush, make sure that there is not dirt crammed around the nozles input, and check to see if the belt is not slipping on the beatter bar and remove the wound threads from the beatter bar it self.

Best!

Plenty of suction with hose off, little suction with hose and head on. No clogs in hose or head.

if it works without the hose attached but not with it on , then there has to be a blockage keep looking for it .

How do i detach hose to remove blockage?

Lift the hose out as if you were going to use the attachments. At the base of the hose there is a swivel to adjust the hose 90 degrees. Where the lower section of the hose attaches to the swivel you will see that if you give the hose about a quarter turn then lift, it should come off to check for blockage. Also check the rear suction port located near the hose swivel for blockage. It resembles a parallelogram in shape and come off with 2 visible plastic screws.

Beater attachment has no suction.

Your hose issue is isolated from the garage. You have a switch problem in the handle of the hose.
If the hose has a swivel handle your problem will lie in the switch itself or the contact rings within the lower portion of the handle itself. If this is a light gray hose with swivel handle several years old switches were an issue from time to time . The problem can normally be fixed by replacing the internal wiring harness in the hose.

Most times you have to replace the neck on the powerhead. Sometimes the switch in the handle of the hose will have a bad solder connection. But S300 is not a good model number, also the powerhead has its own number on the bottom, so couldn't look up parts for you.
