I have had to use a dremmel tool to cut the plastic around the shaft, you can also something sharp and a hammer to break away the remainer of the fan. There are no threads on the fan so to keep truning it may or may not get it off. Just have to watch and not damage the motor shaft and housing.

SOURCE: Can't get motor and impeller assembly off pump

The impeller unthreads counter clockwise off the shaft of the motor. on the back of the motor under a plug or the plastic cap there is the shaft of the motor with a slot for a standard screwdriver. put the biggest screwdriver you can find in there and turn on the impeller as hard as you can. After some years the impeller can get rusted onto the threads of the shaft and you will need to break it to get it off. (sometimes they just don't come off)

SOURCE: Cannot remove starter housing assembly on Sears Blower Vac

Take cover off were the belts are located. turn power button to off! see if the shaft can turn with a wrench. That should turn 180 degrees. If stuck you may need to forch it. Then try to pull cord.
Good luck

Motor turns on then off.impeller turns freely?

More info needed ... the impeller should turn freely when in the off position, both directions. If it is running backward when it is off, there is air in your filter causing back pressure. OR, (let me ask) is there another pump on this circuit? Fix your air leaks. Be careful when starting the pump ... if the air pressure is running the pump backward when you turn it on, you will DEFINITELY spin the center out of the impeller.

It could be that you spun the center out of the impeller if you are not pumping when the power is on.

Have you disassembled the device yet?

Tell me more.

I had a water leak at the pump on my hot tub so I removed the motor and pump assy for repair. I removed and disassembled the wet end and determined I needed a new seal and impeller. Here's where the fun...

Here is your owners manual.

You have the correct impeller part number and the seal is a standard replacement part.

Please contact us thru for a quote on the exact price and freight charges. Before freight, your parts would be about $20.

I can not help you with a whole wet end at this time but the parts should be available within a few days time.

The pull cord is stuck, can't be pulled to start

This solution applies to the Sears model 358.797200, which also appears to the FL1500LE marketed under the Craftsman name, and may apply to other, similar, blowers. Go to the site and enter the Sears model number. This blower may be prone to develop binding in the pull cord rewind spring compartment. (The binding may easily be misdiagnosed as a seized up engine.) The binding can be fixed by adding washers to increase the spacing. Open the rewind starter page on the sears site for an exploded view. I found that by placing 2 washers on each of the 5 screws (no. 7 on the diagram) which attach impeller housing (12) to the motor, I increased the spacing enough so the pull cord operated and retracted normally. The washers must go between the impeller housing and the motor. To complete the repair, you need to add a washer between the spacing flywheel (14) and the impeller(15) to keep the impeller from binding against the housing. The gasoline tank screws won't line up as well with the holes, but will fit. Install all 3 screws for the at first loosely, then tighten them down.

The blinking LED is sending the code for "RPM sensor or motor overload. It isn't the motor or it wouldn't run at all. The RPM sensor is a small printed circuit board near the front of the motor. It will be available at Sears or any good door opener service company.

Pump disassembly

I removed the impeller on my DW761UQB. The instructions were molded into the plastic pump housing. This is how I DID MINE: Remove motor mount screws. Remove the chopper screw (screw only goes into impeller, not motor shaft). Remove chopper and rotate/remove strainer. Place socket or wrench on impeller tip and place another wrench on rear of motor's plastic fan. Unscrew fan from impeller shaft ( threads are LEFT handed, turn CW). Once fan is 'backed off' of the impeller, CAREFULLY pry the motor/fan from pump housing (impeller is attached to motor shaft via splines). Don't crack the delicate plastic pump housing. Mine was stuck, but separated with moderate force. Now remove the impeller/seals from the pump housing. This worked for MY above mentioned model, I don't know what other models it applies to. I am not a pro.

Whining main motor

blueweals, on model number 66516032400 and 66516032401, there was a motor safety recall. I don't know if your model number starts or ends with these numbers, but I'm assuming so. If so, you should have had the motor replaced under a recall because of a potential fire hazard. Post back with a full model number and serial number and I will let you know if your dishwasher was included in this service flash...Catriver.
