Is it starting?

if you can hear the motor running on spin or rinse then the clutch is not working if you cannot hear the motor then the motor is not working.

If you don't hear a click when you close lid, replace lid switch. If when in spin, you hear motor but does not spin, replace motor coupler.

Dryer will not spin, but can you hear the motor start when the button is pushed? If you hear the motor then the belt is probably broken. If you cannot hear the motor, then open the lid and check to see if there is a belt in place. A second cause for not dryers spinning are misaligned door switches. Shut the door and if it does not spin. Carefully hold the door switch closed by hand and see if does spin (for a second). This test will show that the door switch is working, but that the door is not closing the switch and that is it probably misaligned.

If you are hearing the motor spin but the tub doesn't, then the motor coupling is bad. The coupling goes between the motor and transmission and enables the transmission to spin or agitate. You're going to have to open up the machine so you can access the motor. Then you will have to disconnect the motor and you will see the coupling.

Jim, I would be looking at the lid switch assembly. Try to press down on the lid in the very front edge. IF the switch is going out of tolerance, the added pressure will activate the switch and allow the machine to spin. If it were a transmission problem, you would hear the motor. (I'm assuming you are not hearing the motor).
If you are hearing the motor run, check the motor slides to make sure they are not rusted and the motor is able to pivot back and forth freely.

It could be the belt is broken or the motor is bad. check to see if you hear any noise when the machine is in cycle ,if you hear the motor is spinning that means you have a broken belt. Hop this information could help you.
