Hi! just a tip hope it would help. if you have a white gear on to your tv it is either updating or probably something is wrong with the cable box. if the gear still present after a couple of mins try to do a hard reset on the cable box by pressin the power button for 10 seconds. if still doesnt work try to unplug and then replug the cable box like after 10 seconds, if still doesnt work reset the gateway but let me remind you that your internet and tv connection may be out for a couple of minutes, if still doesnt work then ill be advisin you to call ATT for further assistance, hope this would help. I have had the same problem after moving service. Essentially, the DVR is trying to update software, however because there was no loading bar it was not successful and after some time the gear became a red X. I scheduled a tech to come out, and they will likely just replace the box. We did after all request a new DVR on Saturday (July 25) and here is its July 31 and lo and behold we are out of a DVR. Se la vis...the gear without a loading bar is bad. The gear with a loading bar is good.
