My dyson dc 54 loses suction after a few seconds of suctions

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems.

This does point towards a blockage of some kind and I would ask you to check the inlet on the cyclone itself as well as the bin. Please also brush down and tap out the cyclone shroud. Make sure to do this outside over a bin as it will produce very fine dust.

If you have further difficulty, please contact Dyson directly on the numbers provided as there may be something more technical that requires further diagnostics.

If you continue to have difficulty, please give the Dyson Helpline a call on 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA), 0800 298 0298 (UK). Our experts will be happy to talk you through some further diagnostic checks when you have your machine easily to hand.

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

It would be worth checking that the brush bar is turning when the machine is in the vacuuming position. If it is not turning, please press the re-set switch located on the cleanerhead.

If this starts the brush bar turning but does not solve the problem, please check the cleanerhead for blockages and remobve any threads or hair trapped around the brush bar.

Shoudl you need any further help or advice, please contact our Helpline on 1866MYDYSON.

No suction on wand of Dyson DC14 Animal

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

It sounds as though the wand handle is blocked. To check this, remove the wand/hose from the machine as if you were going to use it to vacuum the stairs. Switch the machine on and test the suction at the top of the wand handle with your hand. If the suction from the wand is poor, remove the wand from the hose and test the suction again from the top of the hose. If the suction here is good, then you know the wand handle is blocked. If the suction is poor at the hose, you can remove the hose from the machine and clear any blockages here.

For the full blockage procedure please visit the support section on our website at www.dyson.com.

Kind regards

Dyson Animal, lost suction and bypass valve seems to be loose

Dear terrygivens, 2-17-2009 4:12am EST (USA)

Most suction problems are caused by a clog from picking up something you probably didn't see or if you have pets an accumulation of pet hairs!

To clear it out take a metal coat hanger and unbend it til it's straight, then bend the end and tape it so when you push it through to unclog your vac it doesn't rip the hose.

Push the coat hanger in from the bottom brush area through the opening where the suction is. Also push it in and out anywhere else you can......You'll probably find something clogged....keep working it til it loosens and intermittently turn on the suction.

If you have a second vac with a hose, use that hose for suction on the clogged vac!

This should do it!

Hose buckling/crumpling when Hoover is turned on
Posted by mildwarthog on May 08, 2008
Hi - I'm having a problem when I turn my Dyson DC07 on, that the suction is causing the hose to buckle/crumple out of shape which then means I can’t Hoover through the hose. After a short while the motor starts to overheat from trying to maintain suction through the crumpled hose is it simply time to buy a new hose, or is there anything else I can do to fix this problem?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
Dyson DC07 All Floors Bagless Upright
Once you hose starts to breakdown there is really nothing you can do other than replacing the hose. This is true on almost every vacuum on the market because they are using in most case the plastic hose and the heat and the product you pickup breaks down the hose and starts to lose its strength and starts to collapse. You may want to check with your local vac dealer to see if he has a new one or a good used one for ½ the price. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
