SOURCE: hoirizontal white lines and poor quality in black

If you are sure your ink cartridge is not empty, it may be worth running the head cleaner a few times then print a test page.

Worth a try for nothing.

Good luck.

SOURCE: My DELL 3010CN is printing a thick black line on

Often Toner sticks to fuser. When the fuser heats the toner comes off onto the paper. Should reduce over time unless toner is spilling onto the fuser in the same place.

Change fuser and toner

thanks

SOURCE: poor print quality

Hello there:
this is normally due to a dirty print head or the nozzles is clogging up
If you have ran your maintenance for the print heads and cartridges several times at least 4 in a row and this still does not clear up and you have tried to get new ink cartridges.
Go to your local printer supply center like office depot or staples and get the print head flush kit this is a specially formulated liquid that you install and it flushes out the print heads and gets all of the ink that has built up in the system out and gets the print heads cleaned it cost about 6 bucks but well worth it
Hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Mike

Poor print quality

hi you can go to the printer icon in printers&scanners right click the printer, then go to properties, in that you will find the settings for print quality depending on how good you want them you have 3 or 4 options, obviusly to have the best print you need to change it to the photo quality, also change the paper quality to, do not have just plain paper, change it to high quality inkjet paper, this way you can get a realy good quality print....hope this helps

Poor photo printing quality with new color cartridge

Shaking these cartridges does nothing except give you a little exercise. If this is a brand new HP cartridge you are having problems with I would return it to the store you purchased it from. HP brand cartridges should not give you these problems right out of the box. The print defects you are seeing are due to a dried up or clogged print head. If you like you can try hydrating the print head on a water soaked paper towel until the ink starts flowing, but there's a risk you will cross contaminate the colors.

Print wedding announcements and the print is not straight

Card stock on an HP can be a nuisance, due to the paper feed path. The stock has to curl around the platen.
Some things to check: Make sure you are telling the print driver you are using card stock. It should be in the printing preferences as paper type. The printer will respond differently, knowing it has the heavier paper. Also make sure that your paper guides are adjusted to fit the smaller stock. Just putting in 5.5 x 8.5 paper into an 8.5 x 11 tray may cause it to skew.
I am assuming that you are already telling it to print high quality, as it is for a wedding announcement, but make sure that you are. Slowing down the paper feed speed by putting it into high quality mode can help.
Your printer is an older model, so it could be that the rollers are wearing down, and it just can't feed the last bit as well. You could try to print it in "landscape" mode. Turn the paper 90 degrees in the paper tray, so that the 8.5" is the feed side. This will allow the printer to have a better grip on the paper as it goes through. A word of caution with this method, though. HP's have a 1/2 inch margin at the bottom of the paper where it can't print. Turning the paper 90 degrees will force you to have a side margin of 1/2 inch. Currently, your bottom margin has to be 1/2 inch. I don't know what your layout looks like, so I don't know if you can turn the paper.
If you are the one getting married, the congratulations, good luck, and mazel tov! (Have to cover all the basis).

Have you check the teflon at the heater? have you clean the reflector of laser? Try that.

Poor print quality .... Canon Pixma MP140 ...

Paper quality does make a difference in the quality of print, but it's usually in the areas of blurriness and vibrance. If your prints are coming out faded, the quality for your prints might be set to 'economy', which doesn't use very much ink. If you have it set for 'quality' prints, I would try replacing the ink cartridges.

the messages you get for cartridges other than the original are not trustful. You will get the right reading for original(from Brother) cartridges. Some ink is poor for printing photo quality.

not any refillable ink is right for printing photos, sometimes too dark, sometimes you don't get the right mix of colors.

Print is not centered on paper

There are two possible culprits for this problem.

1. The wrong driver is being used for your printer.

2. The paper thinks it is printing to different sized paper than it actually is.

To solve the first case:
Verify that the correct driver is being used. Go to the Control Panel (Start, Settings, Control Panel) and open up the Printers and Faxes component by double-clicking on it.
Right-click on your printer and go to Properties.
A new window will pop-up. Go to the Advanced tab and verify next to where it says 'Driver' that it lists your model of printer.

To solve the second case:
Exactly as you did above, under the Advanced tab, click on the 'Printing Defaults' button.
Then click on the Paper/Quality tab on the new window.
Under the Paper/Quality tab click on the 'Advanced' button.
A new window will pop-up. Where it says Paper/output, expand it (click the plus) to list Paper size. Change Paper size to match the size of the paper you are printing (Letter is the default 8.5" x 11").

Margins not recognised

Hi lerona - I have a 5600C series HP printer. You might try these tips:
Do a Print Preview to be sure the document looks right on your screen, then in Print Setup, down in the Zoom box check the Scale to Paper Size to be sure it isn't set for the wrong paper size. There's an arrow to scroll to the size you're printing on.

Then click Properties, then the Paper Quality tab. There's an item that says "minimize margins". You could try printing with the box checked (if it's not now), or unchecked (if it IS now) and see the difference. Click the Effects tab and be sure the "normal size" box says 100%, and that there's no check mark in the "borderless printing" box.

I print documents all the time, as well as photos, smaller sized items, cards, etc., and have had no trouble with the margins printing differently than my Print Preview shows on my screen. I hope these tips help you. Good luck, and feel free to email me if you have any success with my suggestions.
