Delete gprs settings from your old operator, then go to your new operators website and get their gprs setup to your phone

I have a Alcatel safelink phone how do I get the SOS off so I can make a call

Hi Teresa

If I remove the sim card from my iPhone it will show SOS and allow me to make an emergency call only.
This is what sos is for. (Save Our Souls)

So, check your sim card and mobile carrier contract
then sos will be replaced by the carrier name.

Cheers

Please help, I want my Samsung sgh s125g to work with other sim cards.

You will have to contact the phones carrier to have it unlocked. There terms of use you must abide by before they unlock the phone. Also make sure the sim is the proper one. For example cdma, GSM, 4g, 3g, LTE. Most sim cards are also locked to there specific carriers and phones sim cards can not be used or swapped out to a new phone. The phone may just not work with a different carrier also for the fact that it is a cdma phone and may not work on other carriers frequency's. If it is from the original carrier they will need to have some more info off the phone like IMEI number. That number is on the carriers network and is used as a identifier of the phone and to be used to lock it to them and the sim card.

I purchased this phone online from ebay as an unlocked phone. I purchased internet and text services from my carrier (Consumer Cellular) but when I click onto media net it says "connection...

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

What most people don't know about 'Unlocked' phones is that they may be 'unlocked' to use a different SIM card for calling but they are still programmed to the Internet Gateway of the original cellular company who sold the phone.

So, you'll need to re-program the phone's Data connections to access the Internet through Consumer Cellular's Gateway.

Contact Consumer Cellular's Customer Support Dept., and ask for Tech Support assistance. They can assist you in reprogramming your phone to work on their system.

You have to call the provider and just have them activate the IMEI number of your blackberry. Some times, it's automatically activated when you put in the SIM so you have to activate by customer service. When you put in the SIM are you getting any signal bars?

Says invalid sim Card, seems it is locked, it was being used in a different, South Africa and now its in Malawi

Most likely it is on a different network now. Most phones have sim lock so they can't be used that way. What you would have to do is get a friend or yourself to call the other carrier the phone was originally used on and have them unlock it. If not you will have to search the internet and pay for the unlock code.

I PUT MY SIM IN A DIFFERENT PHONE AND CAN'T FIGURE OUT THE UNLOCK CODE

The phone wants an unlock code because the phone was meant to work with sim cards from a different carrier. You can maybe find unlock codes on the internet, but you'll probably have to put it in a phone from the same carrier as the sim card.

Unable to send or recieve calls and texts. It is not the sim card

try using a different sim in your set to confirm whether it is a set problem or sim problem. If it is a set problem, restore the factory settings.

Late receiver

HI

I don't think so, because there are lot of factors why your phone receives late text messages, one is coverage of the service provider and outage. try using sim card on a different phone and then check if its doing the same thing. one factor is if your phone can't pickup that good signal then chances are message will come in late, try texting your own mobile number using the 11 digit dialing patern or put 1 before your number.

hope this helps

I have a Rocada Xphone and am unable to get it to ring, text or make calls. It is saying something about 2 SIM cards.. what can I do?

I have a rocada xphone (gold) and it has two sim slots but you can go to the settings app and select to use only one sim. I only use one because i am with t mobile. I had to call t mobile so they could send me the t mobile settings and they sent it in a text message. Now i have the internet and can send and recieve pic msg.

1. press settings on your phone
2. dual sim settings
3. only sim1 open (make sure that is the one you put your sim inside because it has two slots and they say sim1 and sim2)

so when you go back to the main screen at the top there should be an X by the 2. and it will say sim2 closed on the main screen.
