Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Explorer.exe errror

if you having trouble with explorer.exe not opening on start up then there is something potentially wrong, an easy way to get around this is to press [ctrl+shift+esc] this will open task manger, then click file and new task and type explorer.exe, this will now boot the process into life.

if it is a regular thing try booting into safe mode to see if it reoccurs if not but does normally work out when it last worked fine and then back track your installed programs

No start task bar in safe mode

It sounds like explorer.exe is being turned off. When you log in to Safe Mode hit Ctl+Alt+Del to bring the Task Manager and see if explorer.exe is running under Processes. If not, you can go to the Applications tab in Task Manager and click the New Task button and simply type in explorer.exe.
If this does not give you your Start Menu and Task Bar then you need to take your computer back to the repair service and have them fix it properly this time. Otherwise, you'll have to reinstall the operating system.

Click Ctrl+Alt+Delto get to Task Manager. Hold the Ctrl key, plus Hold the Alt Key then hitthe Del key while holding them.Once the task manager opens Clcik the Processes tab then click the Image NameColumn heading on the left to get them in alphabetical order. Scroll downand look for explorer.exe. If you see it click it to highlight it thenclick End Process.

Next, click the FILE tab at the very top left of the window and select New Task(RUN). When the Create New Task window opens type explorer.exe and pressok. Your start menu, task bar and desktop icons will start appearing andpopulating. if not that means a virus has hidden your files and folders.

Help me to uninstalled think point

ONE WAY USE WINDOWS DISK TO RESTORE ALL SYSTEM FILES.

OR TRY USING THESE STEPS:-

1. Restart your computer. Once the ThinkPoint window comes press Ctrl+Alt+Delete or Ctrl+Shift+Escape. You should now see the Windows Task Manager screen as shown in the image below or a screen where you can select the Task Manager to be run.

taskmgr_hotfix-exe.jpg

Click on the Processes tab. Then click and highlight hotfix.exe and click End Task. If it asks you "Are you sure you want to terminate the process?" click yes (or press Enter). This will close the ThinkPoint program.

2. While in Windows Task Manager, click the File -> "New Task (Run...)" from the menu on the bottom right. Type in explorer.exe and click OK. Your desktop and icons should start up as normal.

new_task_explorer.jpg

NOTE: if you got an error message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access them", then please run this command first:

cacls "C:\Windows\explorer.exe" /G Everyone:F

calcs_explorer.jpg

A new windows will come up asking "Are you sure?" Type Y and press enter.

calcs.jpg

Now run explorer.exe again.

3. Download the following file to your Desktop: windows-shell.reg. Double-click to run it. Click "Yes" when it asks if you want to add the information to the registry. This file will fix the Windows Shell entry. This step is important because if you won't fix this entry, then your Windows Desktop will not be displayed the next time you reboot. Once the new registry value has been added, you can delete the file from your computer.

AFTER ALL, USE A GOOD ANTIVIRUS AND TRY TO CLEAN YOUR SYSTEM WITH IT.

I HAVE A WINDOW XP HOME EDITION AND WHEN I START MY COMPUTER THE ONLY THING THAT COMES UP IS THE BACKGROUND. THERE ARE NO ICONS OR A BAR AT BOTTOM OF SCREEN.

the icons and the bar(task bar) at the bottom of the screen are enabled by the explorer.exe file

it starts automatically but in your case it is not starting

to start it when your computer starts and comes at the desktop, press alt+ctrl+delete button at the same time to bring up the task manager

when you do this a task manager shows up in a window

in task manager window click on file, it will be located on the top left portion on task manager

now click on "new task(run)"

this opens another window, in that window type
"explorer"
without the quotes "" and press enter
this will bring you icons and task bar at the bottom of the screen
