You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.

My dvd player rdr-hxd860 seems to be frozen on 'welcome'

I've had the same problem. I've actually unplugged the unit and it's been unplugged for probably about two weeks. When I reconnected the power this morning the problem persisted where the DVD Recorder was stuck on the Welcome Screen. As a last ditch effort I pressed and held the power button for 10 to 15 seconds until the word "Welcome" dissapeard of the screen and back on. This seems to have reset the unit. I know I should have tried this a long time ago. So much for reading the instruction manual! I'm just glad it's working again!

HI My Sony HXD995/HXD1095 will not recorded

The official advice for failed retunes is to repeat the process. From experience I'd suggest to try twice but at different times of the day.

Having said that there are a lot of Sony products which have been listed as having problems with the retune; mainly where the Freeview functions freeze, your model is not on the published list of affected units but it's become painfully obvious that the list is not a comprehensive one. If you are certain that you have a good aerial system then the next step will be to follow the advice on the Sony website:-

http://sonycic.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/sonycic.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=221&p_sid=7-JakZJj&p_lva=369&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPSZwX3NvcnRfYnk9JnBfZ3JpZHNvcnQ9JnBfcm93X2NudD00NTgsNDU4JnBfcHJvZHM9JnBfY2F0cz0mcF9wdj0mcF9jdj0mcF9wYWdlPTE*&p_li=

If this fails then contact Sony on 0870 511 1999. As the phone lines will undoubtedly be busy you may also wish to consider getting assistance via the Sony UK website:-

http://support.sony-europe.com/hav/hv/dvr/dvr.aspx?site=odw_en_GB&m=RDR-HXD1095

See below for a (non-comprehensive) list of affected products.
