Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. First of all try to reset the printer. Toreset it unplug the power cable from the back of the printer. Press and holdthe Cancel + Pause buttons simultaneously and plug in the power cable. Alsoplease check the power cable is properly connected to a power socket. If it is connected properly then reconnect itto a different power socket. If still the problem persists, then you need to uninstallthe printer drivers and re install these again. If the printer is HP then check the operating system and download printer driversfrom the link---

I have a hp officejet 4215. It has a scanner, but

For some reason the scan button on allot of HP printers doesn't seem to work. You can go thru "printers and faxes" on your "start" menu. After opening Printers look in the left column for "scanners and cameras",click it.Then your printer will come up,highlight it.Left column again, click "get pictures" and it will walk you thru the scanning process.

My printer will not print. The cartriges seem to

First make sure you are placing the right
color cartridge into the right slot.
Most Printers are touchy about the
installation of ink cartridges. If the
instructions say to press the cartridge
into the slot until you hear a loud click,
that's what they mean. If at first you
don't succeed, remove the cartridge and
reinsert it into the slot again and press
on it hard till it clicks.
Then your printer should work properly.
Hope this is of some help. Bud

Printer with parallel port not "seen" on my Mac

I've never had much luch running parallel printers on UNIX systems, it seems that a serial connection works without any trouble.

At any rate, have you tried hooking it up to a stationary windows machine, and then sharing it using windows networking.

Then, you could simply print to it by using SMB...

I've done this before and it seems to work fine.

Printing problem

Is the printer connected to a network or USB. If connected on a network there is probably an firewall blocking the print communications. Also the latest print drivers for the printer should be loaded.

Printer does not power up

None of the leds are flashing or indicating the power.
First Possible solution is change power cable or put the one which is already working Cable. If Its not getting power Check the fuse of Printer. If nothing Works Consult to service center as it seems to be under Warranty before doing any manipulation in the circuit.

Superscript 860

If you can reach the sheet, you may apply a lot of force on in without the risk of destroying the printer.

Hp laserjet 2300n

Does this printer also have a parallel and/or USB port? If so, try printing to it via one of those methods to see if the printer itself is functioning.
I've seen this before with a 2200dn where the JetDirect box stopped responding, thus rendering the network side of it inoperable. If you have more of these printers it might be worth switching JetDirect boxes (if they're removable, as on the 2200dn) to see if that isolates the problem to a specific part of the printer (remembering the IP address stays with the JetDirect; not the printer!)
IIRC, replacement JetDirects for these printers are becoming hard to find, and expensive.

Printer

Which operating system do your and your brother's printer use? Are they the same machine, or are they widely different? are they networked? If you just start your brother's computer without the printer installed, then plug the printer into it and turn on, what screen message if any do you get? :)
