Question about Sanyo HT32744 32" TV
If the thin white line you mention is crossing the screen from left to right, your tv is experiencing what is called "vertical collapse". That is a very common problem that is repairable and may be as simple as a few solder connections to replacement of the vertical output IC and a few capacitors. If you can find a qualified shop, take it in and it shouldn't cost much more than $100 to get it fixed.
