I thought my plate was microwave safe, Well I was wrong lol. It melted to my microwave, is there anything I can do or do I have to buy a new one? It was one of the expensive rotisserie microwaves that...

Hi.

First try to scratch out the plastic from the surfaces inside the microwave cavity. If that is not possible you will need to replace the parts. Most parts for microwave, including cabinet and casing are available from part sellers. Below a website showing several part sellers. If they do not find your model find a local part seller and call them. You can ask an exploded view of the part needed if you want.

If you need parts or diagrams see this tip explaining how to find parts and diagrams for most appliances: Where do I find parts and diagrams for my appliance?

After disassembly and repair the microwave must be go through a standard radiation leak test, hence the job is better done by a technician.

Regards.

Where is the thermistor

Many Microwaves do NOT use a thermistor, as such, they do however have thermostat type electronics, what you need to do is get a service manual, this will have a schematic diagram.

Above find a service manual for a generic service manual.

Turntable will not turn housing seems to be loose

This is commonly caused by a turntable motor that has worn out and needs replaced. The following link explains how to access and replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3555716-replacing_a_turntable_motor_on_a_microwa

If the model number is correct, the part number is WB26X10135. You may also consider replacing the turn table shaft (coupler), part number WB06X10564. You can purchase replacement parts at the following websites: searspartsdirect.com pcappliancerepair.com appliancepartspros.com repairclinic.com The first three sites listed offer helpful exploded view diagrams to assist you in parts location/identification. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

NTC cover message after replacing fuse in my whirlpool microwave MH1170xsb

The "negative temperature coeffecient" (NTC) thermistor was left unplugged after reassembly or it is defective.

It is the hood thermistor, and should be plugged into connector P4 on the circuit board.

I think it should be at the bottom of the board, on a little tongue-like protrusion, as shown in the attached photo.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.
At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

If you don't find yours, or if you want to look at it without disassembling the oven, you can download it here (just enter your model number).

You can also find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

I have power to the plug, but nothing to the unit when it is plug

First unplug the unit.
This can be caused by one of two possible conditions.
You may have blown a fuse inside the unit or the thermistor may have blown. You can check them with a simple ohm meter. You will have to take the covers off to access the parts. The thermistor is located at the air outlet. This thermal resistor (thermistor) is designed to open if heated too hot and shut power to prevent fires. You can see a diagrams at;

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=260464

It's usually the thermistor.
The parts can be purchase at electronics stores like Radio Shack.

Where is the fuse on a Frigidaire GLMV169D

This problem is almost certainly caused by the thermistor failing. The thermistor is located at the
air outlet of the unit. This is a thermal resistor that cuts off the electricity to the unit if it overheats. Sometimes it can fail from age.
Go to;
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/

and enter your unit number. You can even get diagrams in the left-hand corner screen.
Replace with same value thermistor.
Also see if a mini manual in hidden behind the control panel.
