Question about Brother HL 5250DN Laser Printer

2 Answers

My duplex printer prints the second page(inside) of a half- fold card upside down. The printer wizard from orintmaster and printshop is designed for single- pass printers si that doesn't work... In fact, it won't print out the two guide sheets, it prints them on one piece of paper!

This is not the problem.. This is a brand new printer ... It is not a gear problem, it is a configuration program. I'm trying to figure out if a duplex printer can work with a card- printing program to print both side correctly in a single pass or is the duplex only for printing sequential pages like on a book!

For a duplex printer to print on both sides correctly, you have to but an extra attachment that will turn the paper for printing on the other side automatically. Many card programs are very confusing to get set up. When you want to print the front on the first half and the inside on the opposite side, same half, without the automatic duplexer, you will have to print one side only, and then flip it and print the other side. The direction they tell you to flip or turn your paper isn't always correct. Try it with a sheet of regular paper, until you figure which way it needs to be turned & flipped.

Actually the gears in the printer are got worn out or some thing is blocking the gears so its not able to turn the paper internally to print on the right part of paper.and its printing upside down.remove the cartridge from the printer.and apply air blower in the inner area of printer.remove all the dust collected in the printer by blowing air everywhere in the printer.then check out if still the same problem the paper sliding gears needs to be replaced.you can get the gear assembly for local printer repair shop.they also help if replacing the gear assembly.

yes a duplex printer can work with a card- printing program to print both side correctly in a single pass .
---------------------------Guidelines for printing on both sides of the paper
ÿIf the paper is thin, it may wrinkle.
ÿIf paper is curled, straighten it and then put it back in the paper tray or the MP tray.
ÿIf the paper is not feeding properly, it may be curled. Remove the paper and straighten it.
ÿWhen you use the manual duplex function, it is possible that there may be paper jams or poor print quality.-----------------

How do I use my printer as a duplex for making copies on both sides? Thanks Roxanne

The printer does not support duplex coping. If you want to do manual duplex copying, you can make a copy of the first page.
Then reinsert the paper upside down in the manual tray or paper tray, fil the page on the document feeder and make the back copy.

My book fold booklet is printing upside down when duplexed!

You may need to tell word you want your printer to flip on the short side and not the long side. With my Canon printer I get a drop down menu IN WORD (not printer setup) that gives choice of: print one side; print two side flip on long; and print two sides flip on short.

Inside of greeting card.

Yes and no. Unless you have a printer that prints on two sides you will have to "trick" it and use the template for both. Make a front and a back. You will have to print one one side then inset it to print on the other side. Since all printers feed difrently you will have to play with this on scrap first before using your good card stock. For example I made invitations to a wedding. The couple wanted a pcture on the fornt. On my template I had to rotate the picture upside down so when it was folded in half the picture wa right side up. It also had a raised rose on the invitations so I had to adjust the image so it would print in the empty are on the front. I then had to do the inside text and makes sure the paper was inserted correctly as not to print upside down. You can do it but it is tricky, that is why I recommend some scrap paper first. Good Luck.

Duplex Printer prints one side upside down

If it's the same as the Brother 4070 you go into printer proerties (press properties next to printer selector after sending a document to print).  Choose the advanced tab, on this tab near the top are five buttons with icons on, the second one shows two pages with A and B on, press this to access the duplex and binding options.  In there change from "flip on top edge" to "flip on left edge"
