Trottle trigger not hooked up,linkage fell off,and need to know how to get at it, to reconnect it? 170 stihl chainsaw.

    Explain your problem and ask for an IPL (exploded parts list. Stihl calls their IPLs proprietary, they are not available on line. HTH

Hello bigherm,first remove the top cover,remove air filter and 2 nuts holding filter cover on.now depending on where link came off ,make sure you connect it to carb first.then grab it with a pair of needle nose pliers and install the rear or "u" shaped part into trigger making sure fuel lines aren't in the way

i work on chainsaws for a living and hope this helps.

Throttle down linkage


Open up handle and check for alignment on trigger and parts. You can look at an exploded view to see all the handle and trigger parts.
