Re: friendster powerpoint background

I can help create background effects in powerpoint, but no idea how to transfer that to Friendster. Is that like Facebook?

anyway - try reading through the documention of friendster and see if they have a help section - it might tell you how to upload a powerpoint (.ppt) file.

If Insert ' Slides from File doesn't work and Open Office's Impress doesn't work, then the file is kaput. Start looking for your backup or in your email "sent" folder (if you emailed it ?at any point, that is). This program works well. I hope it will help you.

Corrupt Pptx files. Need to repair them. Please help!

1st. Try to find the temporary file when you creating it
When you edit a presentation, PowerPoint creates a temporary copy of the file. This temporary file is named PPT####.tmp.
Note #### represents a random four-digit number.
This temporary file may reside in the same folder as the presentation. Alternatively, it may reside in the temporary file folder.
Step 1: Look for temporary file in the documents folder
Windows Vista
Click Start, and then click Documents.
Look for a file that is named PPT####.tmp.
Windows XP
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type %userprofile%\My Documents.
Click OK.
Look for a file that is named PPT####.tmp.
If you do not find the file, you must search for it. To do this, go to step 2.
If you do find the file, go to step 3.
Step 2: Search for the temporary file
Windows Vista
Click Start, and then type PPT*.tmp in the Start Search box.
Press ENTER.
Microsoft Windows XP
Click Start, and then click Search.
In the Named box or in the Search for files or folders named box, type PPT*.tmp.
In the Look in box, click My Computer, and then click Find Now or Search Now.
Step 3: Rename the file, and then try to open the file in PowerPoint
Right-click the file, and then click Rename.
Change the old file name extension from .tmp to .pptx so that the file name resembles the following file name:
Start PowerPoint.
In PowerPoint 2007 click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Open. In PowerPoint 2010 click the File menu, and then click Open.
Browse to the folder that contains the renamed file.
Try to open the file in PowerPoint.
Note More than one file may correspond to the temporary file that was created the last time that you saved the presentation. In this case, you may have to open each file to see whether one is the temporary copy of the presentation.

I need to be able to put lesson plans into powerpoint form at home.

If you don't have PowerPoint at home you can use Google Docs to create a PowerPoint presentation, and then download it for use at school. You can also download and install OpenOffice, a free office program that is very compatible with Microsoft Office apps.

I need to have a mirror image of text in power point .

If you are using PowerPoint 2007, here is how you can accomplish this:
Select the text, Then right click and select Format Shape, Then select 3-D Rotation, then change the X value to 190 degrees.
In PowerPoint 2003, you can't create mirrored text,, you can however use WordArtto create a graphic image of text that you can mirror by using the Rotate or Flip command.
To create mirrored text with WordArt, follow these steps:
  1. On the Drawing toolbar, click Insert WordArt.
  2. In the WordArt Gallery, select the WordArt style that is closest to the effect that you want to use, and then click OK.
  3. In the Edit WordArt Text dialog box, type the text that you want.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Use the tools on the Drawing and WordArt toolbars to format the text the way that you want.
  6. On the Drawing toolbar, click Draw, point to Rotate Or Flip, and then click Flip Horizontal.
You will see a mirror image of your text.

Powerpoint add-in

I don't know of one, but you can build hyperlinks, by using the hyperlink button on PowerPoint's toolbar (looks like chain links). Be sure to give the full location of the file by right-clicking on the file you want the hyperlink to point to and selecting 'Properties' and then copy and paste the 'Target' dialogue (all of it, which is fully selected by default when you open the properties of the file) by using 'Ctrl C' and then in the PowerPoint hyperlink dialogue box use 'Ctrl V' If you run into more problems or need further instructions, please let us know.
