If u have the manual for the camera check and see if the 16mb card is the one recommended for it.

if no manual, then visit the Fuji website for the information.

In addition, check a site like Kodak to see what diff mb cards they have and any capacities that may be listed there.

good luck.

Make sure that the image resolution that you are taking is not to the reading of the photos that you have taken is at about 9 to11 megapixels....unless you are an artist or graphic designer thats way to high and holiday pics ...unless really good only need to be 4 to 5....go through your menu and resize images

Bluelionman....looking at the other related problems assocciated with your camera i...would advise that you upload whatever images that you have and Reset your camera by taking out batteries etc...otherwise see if you can purchase a cheap card or even buy a disposable camera to take your journey images back home with of luck

Take a card into a place to have a picture printed. While they are at it, ask them to check how much room is left on it. It could be your camera just can't access the full memory size you have. But you can have CD's burned periodically, and free up the memory.

My Olympus c-740 tells me there are no photos, although the memory is full. It says it is full in the camera and in the computer. I need the photos, no the memory. Thanks!

There is memory built into the camera and additional memory card! Depends how the camera is set to save the photos either to the smaller built in memory or the larger memory card!

The camera says memory is full but I have only taken about 20 pictures - the letters IN appear in the corner - camera is a finepix F31fd

You are taking pictures to the internal memory and not to the XD Picture Card. The internal memory will only hold about 20 pictures. You can buy an XD Picture card at Walmart or really any store that sells camera accessories. 256MB should be plenty.

You can also lower the resolution of your pictures and then the internal memory may hold maybe 32-40 pictures.

Screen reading memory card not initialized

It sounds like your XD card is corrupted. How and why i couldn't tell you. You will need to get the pictures recovered from the card using a special software (image recovery software, can down load for free from some web sites, or some companies can try and do it for you) and then try and format the card in the camera. DO NOT FORMAT THE CARD BEFORE YOU RETRIVE YOUR IMAGES. If you do all traces of the images may be lost.

All the best and happy snapping.

Screen reading memory card not initialized

  • Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from or
  • 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  • 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  • 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  • 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  • 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

Have you sent the camera to olympus for the free upgrade to enable the xd 512gb and 1gb card? go to the olympic site and then to their support page for c-50zoom and look for instructions for the upgrade, you must have the product ID from the package and the sales receipt and make sure you have purchased the olympus sponsored card mfg. This is listed in the instructions. They get the job done pretty quick and pay for the return shipping.

What is Write Error and Read Error

According Too Sources. The FinePix A330 is not compatible with H Type memory Cards. That could possibly be the reason it keeps bringing up the write error. Try using a Type M card.
