Any of the 10 series errors are saying the cartridges are not correct or not installed properly. The first place to start is remove each cartridge wipe the contacts and make sure all are installed fully. After that, if you still have the error you might have gotten a defective cartridge if one was replaced recently.

Sounds like one or more of the cartridge lock levers or slide levers may be broken. If this printer is very old, you may want to consider replacing it. See...

Door closes with no cartridges but will not with cartridges. looks fine, worked fine before putting in new cartridges for the 1st time. hp color lasorjet 3600n

Did you make sure the cartridges clicks in place? There are while plastic locks on each cartridge and hopefully they are not broken. Not expensive to purchase but major teardown to replace.

Error message 10.92.03 in hp 3800n

Yellow cartridge isn't seated correctly. After reseating it and it still gets the error, try swapping the yellow and black cartridge. If the error changes to 10.92.00 then the yellow is bad. if the error stays the same...something is broken, probably the "cartridge lock" for the yellow.

My HP 3920 is showing error of "The following print cartridge is not intended for use in this printer Tri-color" and Status is : paper jam. Any body can help me how can i fix it?Thanks

If you know you have the right cartridge, and it is inserted correctly, you might try opening and closing the paper jam door in the back of the printer. Sometimes the printer gets "confused" as to what the real problem.Or, at least my HP printer does.

Hp color laserjet 3550 - error message "cartridges not engaged"

here are the codes for the error you are getting

10.92.00 Black toner
10.92.01 Cyan
10.92.02 Magenta
10.92.03 Yellow

The fix is either the toner lock is broken. Contacts on the left side of printer are damaged.

There is a complete proceedure for replacing the the toner locks which comes in a kit you can order from precisionroller.com. this takes about an hour.

If the contacts are damaged you will have to replace the whole plastic part on the left side behind all of the electronics. It takes about an hour

Error message: "Door Open"

HI there,
Follow the steps below:
Step one: Close the print cartridge access door
1.Verify that the print cartridge access door is completely closed. It may appear to be closed, but if it is not completely closed, the error message will display. Verify that there are no obstructions blocking the door.
2.If you are unsure how to close the print cartridge access door on your model, consult your User Guide for more information.
Figure 1: Examples of closing the print cartridge access door (your model may vary)
f3e57be.gif If you have attempted to completely close the access door and the error still appears, there may be a problem with the door sensor and the unit may require service.

Step two: Service your product
If you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service the product.

Good Luck!!!

The following error message appears on the color graphics display after you insert a cartridge: Remove and Check Print Cartridges . The printer will not print. The message does not specify which cartridge has caused the error. Solution This error message indicates that the printer cannot determine which cartridge is causing the error. Follow the steps below to solve the problem.
  1. Remove the color cartridge from the left stall (which has a blue latch) and refasten the latch. Leave the other cartridge in place.
  2. Close the printer, wait 10 to 15 seconds, then look at the LCD display.
    • If the LCD display reads Insert Color Cartridge in Left Stall , the color cartridge may be causing the problem. Follow the steps below:
      1. Clean the color cartridge contacts.
      2. Reinsert the color cartridge into the carriage and close the blue latch.
      3. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.

    2. Turn off the unit by pressing the On button on the front panel. Wait for the printer to completely shut down.
    3. Turn the printer back on by pressing the On button.
    4. When the message display reads Insert Print Cartridges , open the access door and replace the cartridges.

    HP Officejet 5610 All-in-One--Cartridge Error

If a reset hasn't cured this problem you probably need to disassemble the printer and clean the service station and the system board. This normally clear all carriage and cartridge errors, but these machines are quite awkward to take apart.

If you can see what is stopping the door from closing, and it appears to be on the right side of the printer near the top where the cartridge engaging pins are, and you remove all the cartridges and transfer belt and the door closes well, you may want to try this: There is a small silver screw at the top of the right corner of the case. When our front door would not close properly with the cartridges and transfer belt assembly installed, I took off the right side cover and took out that top corner screw. Then I slid the long white engaging rack that is on the lower right side of the printer toward the front door, which retracted those cartridge pins that are triangularly-shaped on their ends. Once the door would close properly with the cartridges and the transfer belt installed, and the pins engaged properly to open the cartridges as the door closed, I put the top corner screw back in and the side cover back on. I hope that helps you.
