How do I use the scan option on the C6280 to scan a document on my desktop. I can print to the printer but cannot figure out how to set it up to scan

First, make sure all of the drivers for your printer were downloaded from the CD that came with your printer and make sure your printer is connected to your computer and turned on..

Second, if you are using a Windows PC, Click on:
Start > All programs > Accessories > Paint

Third: When the Paint program opens, in the top toolbar click on, File > From Scanner or Camera > then select your printer by clicking on your printer's icon > then click, OK.

Fourth: Place the document you wish to scan on the glass of the scanner and click on: Scan.

The document will be scanned and automatically sent to the Paint program.

Fifth: Click, File > Save as > (name the document) and save it in your Pictures folder.

You can now close the Paint program and open your Pictures folder. Click on the document you scanned to view it.

I scanned a document & now can't find it.

Hi kathy_skip
If you remember the name of the saved file, use a search.
Some scanners give the name like scan000,scan001,scan002 etc

If you have no idea what the name was, then scan another document (if you don't have the previous one) and watch the name of the file and folder where it is saved. You may find your previous scan next to it in the same folder.
Best of luck
