All printers have their own troubleshooting and maintenance programs built in.

run the maintenance program.

also, some printers power supply or ready lites will flash yellow where there is an issue.
turning them off and on again resets it.

Lastly,if all the above fails,,, to do a total job /printer reset, cancel all print jobs, and unplug the printer from the usb, turn printer off and unplug it.

then start from the beginning..plug in the printer to power, connect the usb, turn on printer..restart print job.

Good luck.

if not one solution works, eventually the combination of all with get u back in print again.

Good luck.

Printer will not print...it jammed ......the paper jammed in the machine..and I pulled it out....

1. Inspect the paper trays to make sure they are not overloaded. To determine if this is the problem, do a test print with only one piece of paper loaded in the paper tray. (If this turns out to be the problem, keep the paper tray half-full in the future.)
2. Check that the type of paper being used falls within the printer manufacturer's recommendations. For example, paper designed for ink-jet printers doesn't necessarily work well in laser printers. High-quality, bonded paper will cause paper jams in some printers; look for bonded paper that is "laser and ink-jet compatible."
3. If someone has recently printed labels on this printer, check to see if a label has come unglued from a sheet and become stuck inside the printer.
4. Check the gears and rollers for stuck shreds of torn paper from previous jams. Turn off the printer before you attempt to remove the bits of paper.f you have a laser printermag-glass_10x10.gif, inspect the printer's paper rollers. They should be smooth but not shiny. Rollers that are cracked or glazed are a frequent cause of paper jams and should be replaced by a technician.
5. if you have a laser printer, try cleaning the printer's paper rollers with a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol (available atelectronics shops or drugstore.Try changing the toner or ink cartridge.

Mine is actually eating the paper!! There is a paper jam about 50% of the time. Then it goes through all the messages that you are talking about as well. It is driving me crazy. I do still have a warranty...

Canon PIXMA MP530 Error Code 5100

OK. It sounds like there's something on the carriage bar restricting the movement of the ink carrier. Perhaps some ink got on the bar.
Try taking a clean lintfree rag dampened with rubbing alcohol and clean the bar. This may have to be repeated a number of times to get the foreign matter off the bar and the ink carriage.
Let me know if this helps. iF it does not we can try something else.
Thanks.

Chews up paper while printing then jams paper.

Top loader or bottom loader? Ink-jet, dot-matrix or Laser? All have different reasons. Most common are ink-jets. Most common are top loaders. Most common cause is cheap paper. Buy ink-jet paper. Most people buy cheap copy paper (20#). Buy a good 25# or heavier paper to keep that from happening (especially w/ top loaders). People always worry about that extra dollar or two for paper, but it take an average of 10ml of ink to print 300 pages. That's 1 cartridge ($10 to $20 dollars) for less than 1 package of paper ($3 to $5).

Paper stuck? error message 6A00, some ink jets need backup

Hi
Try this
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.
