Getting the machine to spin heavy load

When washing towels or blankets, the machine will not spin out enough water. I can actually wring water out of them when cycle is completed.

You have a bad belt, your drain is too high
you can change the belt but you may need to get a high velocity pump if your drain tube is much higher than 1 foot above the machine

Washing machine won't go to spin cycle if there are towels in it

Washing machines have trouble if they are overloaded and the load gets out of balance. This occurs most often with towels. Open the machine and lift the towels out and put them back in evenly to get the load to finish. You will see how heavy they are when full of water. In future, try running with a few less towels and see if it works ok. You have found the other 'fix' by draining and running spin only which probably resettles the load.

At first I thought it would rinse or spin. I went out to get towels & they were soaked. I removed some towels/blankets because I thought it may be too heavy...after several attempts I removed...

Hi tinawagner,

Drain pump may be clogged. Please follow my below tip on the fix:

ACCESS, DRAIN & CLEAN THE DRAIN PUMP FILTER...

If this does not help, the drain pump may be faulty.

Kind Regards

only wash 1 to 2 blankets max and set water to high when you put them in start with a corner and go around the center plunger and feed them in as equal as you can it should help if not at least not as bad the machine may need to be leveled as well this is very very important for a washer mope this helps

Lion Brank Nature's Choice Organic cotton sheds like crazy. What do I do? Made a beautiful baby blanket and afraid to give to the mommy, baby will end up with a mouthful of cotton.

You may want to soak the (finish product) of the blanket in a warm soapy water (bar/bath soap is prefer). Let it stay for about 20 minutes or so. Do not wring or dry it in the machine. Use a fresh towel. Lay the towel on flat surface. Put the wet blanket on top of towel. Roll the towel together with the blanket and add a little pressure to the roll to get the excess water out of the blanket. If still need it take another fresh towel and do it the same way. Then, lay flat to dry. Warm water and soap usually will make the fiber to be less sheds. Good luck!

Spin vefy fast

A rapid spin cycle is actually a GOOD thing. This is an indication that the gearcase (transmission) and the drive motor are both running strong.

If the washer shudders during the spin cycle the first thing you need to do is check to ensure the washer is properly leveled. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3868923-level_whirlpool_top_loading_washer

The model Whirlpool top loader you have, has an auto-leveler mechanism on the back two legs that can become unlevel periodicailly. You should check the washer level from time to time when it is empty. You need to also make sure the washer is level in ALL directions (front-to-back and side-to-side).

Accidental unbalance problems that can occur from washing blankets, comforters, or heavy loads of towels can also cause the washer to become unlevel and shake. This can also contribute to the level mechanism becoming unbalanced.

Overloading the washer can also cause unbalance problems. Washing blankets or conforters can cause the load weight to shift to one side of the tub. This will result in a tub that shakes violently and bangs against the cabinet. You may have to redistribute the load weight when washing heavy items. This can also occur when washing loads of towels. This is NORMAL as some heavy items do not distribute the weight evenly.

Another problem (which is less common) that can contribute to wash unbalance problems is a weak floor under the washer. If the floor flexes (even the slightest) during the spin cycle, it can cause the washer to bounce or shake. Mobile homes or laundry rooms on the second floor of a home are notorious for having weaker floor structures. This washer has a 35 gallon tub capacity. Coupled with the weight of a wet load and the spinning action, this can put a lot of centrifugal force on a floor.

If you have any questions or concerns, please post back and let me know. I hope this information is helpful to you.

My 9150 doesn't spin well and my clothes are very wet, when they come out. Then when I try to spin & drain only, it wants to run for 4 hours. Looking at the problems how good of a product did I buy.

from the description you are giving, i would guess that: 1. the "coin-catcher" ahead of the pump is plugged. 2. the tub is overloaded. 3. the loads are heavy, bulky [ blankets, jeans, towels]. when a load is too big or it is all very absorbent materials, the machine tries to balance the load before it goes into a final spin, it will not spin on high if it cannot balance - remember, ten towels or pairs of jeans soaked with water is darned heavy - mix the loads i'm familiar with this machine because i have one, i repair washers and dryers as part of my job, in my opinion, the duet is the best and most reliable washer available

Front loader not wringign out water

Details? Is the machine SPINNING? That would be the first thing to check for, make sure the spin cycle is working as that is what gets most of the water to wring out. Some times if you have heavy towels and blankets you may have to run the spin cycle twice, if your machine is getting older, I would check that out FIRST.

Kenmore Series 80 top loading washer that doesn't spin or agitate

Unplug machine, remove water pump and motor, behind the motor is a coupler, take broken parts to your local appliance parts store. Costs 16 bucks, replace the broken parts with new ones, reassemble machine. Never ever do a blanket/comforter in your machine again!!

Spins very slow on rinse/drain and spin

Your filter &/or pump could be blocked. Remove bottom panel three screws, unscrew filter cap (have lots of towels cause it will drain), remove filter & clean out. Refit. If you have manual refer to it. Pl rate me if helped.
