Mirus had solutions for Windows Xp and Linspire (Linux) back in 2007:
Use your backup and then create a Vista restore seperately. You may have to make a full set of (old style) CD ROM's first, then using
the restore program on Vista (32 bit first..then do your 64 bit if needed) do your "rollback snapshot"; also see discussions on winforums.com:
