2 of my electric makita chainsaws have dime tip carving bars. chains keep coming extremely loose after only a few cuts. I spent as much time tightening the chains as carving.

chains that come loose that fast , and is not a cause of a weak bar bolt slipping , for sure is caused by improper oiling of chain and its overheating , heat makes metal expand so chain goes slack if it gets hot

Chain keeps coming off my new 16" Makita chainsaw. Any suggestions?

Make sure that your chain is properly tightened and that the bar does not have any dents or dings in guide groove.I like to have my chains tightened to where you can pull them up at the mid-point of the bar about enough to fit the thickness of a nickle in between it and the bar.Do this when saw and chain are at operating temperature. If nothing else helps try a new chain if you have reached the end of tensioning adjustments. Thank you.

Will it harm my Makita Chain Saw to store it on its side when not in use? If I stand it the right way up the oil leaks out.

There is no problem storing it on its side, you could also sit it in a tray to catch any oil, it is not uncommon on many machines to find chain oil under them after they have been left.

How do I replace the chain

loosen the two nuts holding the bar onto the chainsaw. (they are on the right side if you are looking from the back of the saw) loosen the chain tensioner with a regular screw driver, two or three turns will do. go back and take the to nuts you loosen off, slide the side cover off that these two nuts were holding on and boom t he bar and chain will almost just fall off.
