Cd not recognised even though device manager says drive is working well Help please?

It seems that you have no problem with software side. Then obviously the problem is in the hardware side of your DVD drive and need technician service.
Thanks

Bd rom wont eject

If it does not eject, how does it open?

Make sure it has power (ejects). Check Device Manager in Safe Mode by pressing F8 during boot. Right click My Computer > Manage. Select Device Manager > View > Show Hidden Devices. Now delete all DVD/CD-ROMs and reboot. Windows will say "New Hardware Found" and install. Check BIOS by pressing F key (correct F key is noted during boot) and make sure BIOS see's the Optical Drive.

Hi There and Welcome to FixYa!

It seems like you're having some serious optical drive issues there. Based on how you described the problem, I would think at the onset that there is somewhat of a 'conflict' in your OS' registry (if you're using Windows, that is). I recommend that you go and visit the site below from Microsoft :

MS Drive Issues

Clicking "Run Now" will download the executable file. After completing the download, go ahead and run the application (making sure that all other applications are closed). What it does is it will clear any conflicts from the OS registry. After the procedure, restart your computer.

If this does not resolve this problem, then I would strongly suggest that you replace the optical drive in order to completely fix this issue.

I hope this helps, and Thank you for using FixYa.

I have macpro 13inc.my problem is my disc is not working with the eject is not function.so still my dish is inside of my disc unit how can i remove manually pls. give me instruction properly thanks lot...

Thanks for contacting Fixya Support.

With the Macbook Pro 13" having a Superdrive or Combo optical drive, you are dealing with a slot-loaded drive. As a result, if you have a disc that is loaded into your optical drive, which will not eject, then there isn't a manual way to remove the disc without causing damage to either the optical drive or the disc itself.

In most cases, of a potentially stuck disc in a Apple notebook's optical drive, a visit to your local Apple Retail Store Genius Bar or local Apple-authorized service center would be highly recommended.

With that noted however, here are some troubleshooting steps to try from the Mac OS X side first before having to take that step and visit an Apple service provider:

- CD DVD EJECT -

- - Reboot your Macbook Pro 13"

- - Hold down your Media Eject key on your keyboard pad prior to the Apple Chime starting.

- - Keep holding the Media Eject key down while your Macbook Pro 13" boots up

- - The disc should eject before you reach your Desktop

- - When it does, simply release your Media Eject key.

If that does not work, try this:

-EJECTING DISC USING TERMINAL-

From your Desktop:

* Click anywhere on a blank space on your desktop. Now you should see Finder listed near the Apple menu icon.

* From the Finder menu, click on Go, then Utilities from the

drop-down menu. This will take you to your Utilities folder.

* Locate and open the Terminal application.

* At prompt, type: drutil eject and press the Return key on your keyboard

This command line should eject the disc from the drive, unless there are mechanical issues with the drive.

If neither of these steps work, then I would be remiss as an Apple Certified Tech, if I did not recommend you proceed to take your Macbook Pro 13" in for service.

I hope this helps.

Best Regards,

-Mactechtrainer

CD wont eject from drive

Have you already tried to mannually open the tray, by inserting a thin straight object (like a unbent paper clip) in the manual eject hole on the optical disk drive? The hole exists for that pupose.

Mac desktop image wont change

on the main drive there is a folder called "Library" in that folder should be another folder called "Desktop Pictures" I suggest checking that folder to make sure the images are present. Also try checking permissions using "Disk Utility" located in "Applications" --->"Utilities Folder" select the main disk in the list on the left and select repair permissions. As a last ditch effort you can reinstall the base system and then restore to time machine as time machine will not restore system components

Maxoptix t5-2600 Will not eject MO Disk

As far as I know the green led means "write" & red led means "read". Don't increase time out on the SCSI card . If you press eject button wait 10 secs. If no response I think your MO drive having some problem . Or your jumper setting doesn't right.
I using t5-2600 on SunOS so I'm not exactly know what's problem on your drive. But Maxoptix MO drive very durable. I bought from ebay and manufacture date were 1999 . Oh my god . Just almost 10 years . And working good.

Problem opening quarkxpress on g4 mac

The first place to look is your permissions. Open your utilities folder in your applications folder and launch **** utility. Click on your hard drive icon and click the repair disk permissions button. It may take a few moments to run. That might solve your problem.

If that does not solve the problem. Open library/preferences/Quark. Move the pref' doc in that folder onto you desktop (don't trash yet) try relaunching the app. If still not working trash the pref' and try again.

If all that fails I'm afraid you'll have to re-install the app'

Wii wont take disc in

The drive sensor or the motor for pulling in the disk isn't working. Also, make sure there isn't a disk already in the wii by hitting the eject button. You'll need to send it in for repair if there is no game in it.
