hi ya the ipod will be locked to a itunes account on your computer, plug the device into the computer and apple support will detect that your ipod is on a anti theft mode and will have your itunes email password .after apple confirm s your itunes p/word it will unlock the ipod allowing you to reset the 4 diget screen security code xx
your going to have to reset your iPod
1.verify that you are running the latest version of iTunes
2. Connect your device to your computer
3. Select your device once it is recognized by iTunes
4. Select the summary tab
5. Under the summary tab there should be two options a backup and restore.
6. Backup your device to your computer if necessary.
7. Then Restore your device this will take a while, this will delete all of the data from your ipod but you can restore the data with the backup you created.
8. You should see the apple logo come up on the device and the device should be unlocked but have nothing on it since its been wiped.
9.Restore your data and set a new password and write it down somewhere safe.
Step 1: Turn on your computer, and connect your iPod to your computer with the USB cable that came with your iPod.
Step 2: Open up iTunes on your computer.
Step 3: In iTunes, go to the left side of your screen and scroll down, when you see your iPod, select it.
Step 4: You should now see on the right side of your screen some general iPod information. Scroll down to until you see a "Restore" button. This will erase everything that was on the iPod, and sync whatever is in your iTunes library. It is the only known way. Note: If this was helpful please vote for this solution!
Try plugging it into the computer you normally sync it with. Then open
After iTunes recognizes your nano, you can eject and disconnect the iPod
from your computer.
It should be unlocked now.
If that does not work, then you'll have to restore your iPod (which will
remove *all* data from the iPod).
You can do that like this:
plug it in to your computer
when iTunes recognizes your nano, click on the nano, then click on
"Restore" (on the "Summary" tab).
Then follow the onscreen instructions.
You'll need to resync all your music, etc. to get it back on your iPod.
OOPS, try this: connect it to your computer and click reset when your ipod nano comes
up on itunes. you should click on the ipod name in the left side of
your screen (lwhere the itunes library and store icons are located)
and there should be a button that says restore or reset your ipod to
origional settings. it will erase all passwords. Let me know if this helps
