I cannot take photos when i shot with manual mode. The shutter clicks but no picture is actually taken.Darkness.The auto mode works fine.Lens Nikkor Micro AF-S 105mm.Drives me crazy

When you shoot in manual mode, make sure your camera sensor gets enough light. When you shoot inside with dimm light at 1/1000 of a second or faster and a aperture of 8. all pictures will be black.
The best way to learn shooting in manual, is to shoot a picture in the P mode and put the picture on the screen (>) button. then select the info, where you see time, aperture iso and so on. and even better select the histogram. Note the figures in your head (or on paper) and then goto manual and make sure you have almost the same settings. Then shoot en look what the histogram shows. No histogram on the right, means to little light, so lower the shutter speed, open the diaphragm or increase the ISO. No histogram on the left, means to much light, so higher shutter speed, lower ISO or smaler diaphragm (the aperture number must be up. 3,6 is wide open 16 is almost closed.

The shutter of the camera is not closing

Do you mean when you press the shutter release button, oohing happens?
Are you sure you are giving the camera enough time to focus, before you press the button complete?
Normaly, you have to press the button half way, and wait till the camera is focused. The camera will give an audio or a visual signal. Then press the button complete.
Be patient. Point an shoot camera's sometimes need more than a second to focus.
It is not like in the old days, every time you pressed the shutter release button the camera fired.

When i push the shutter button on my Av100 camera,it show me Image previwe screen.also when I push zoom in button,it also gave me the same screen.Bcoz of that,i can't get photos.help me.

I do not know any solution so far but try this if you want to use your camera like normal:

1. While in view/gallery mode, press and hold the view/gallery mode button.
2. press the shutter halfway. it should take you to shooting mode. remember to hold the view/gallery mode button.
3. use the camera as normal as long as you do not let go of the button.

to go to view/gallery mode:
just press the shutter button halfway from shoot mode without pressing other buttons.

I hope this helps.

I have a fujifilm finepix s1600.i just wanted to know if i can blur the background for certain images.

To blur the background, you need a shallow depth of field, which requires a small aperture.

Select Aperture priority by moving the mode select dial to A
Press the +/- button, the shutter speed and aperture are displayed
press the selector up/down to select the aperture
press the +/- button to exit shooting mode

IF the selected aperture is outside the shooting range of the camera, shutter speed will show ---

Where's the shooting information of d80 in the larger screen?

The Shooting Information screen was introduced with the D40. The older D80 does not have it. Instead it shows almost all of the information in the control panel and/or viewfinder, though you have to delve into the menus for some of it.

Most of the settings you could change via the Shooting Info screen on the D40, you can change by pressing the appropriate button and turning one of the command dials.

The D40 was intended as an introductory dSLR, doing more handholding for new photographers, putting things into visual, menu-driven screens. The D80 was intended as a midlevel camera, allowing faster operation using more buttons. It does less handholding, but once you learn where the controls are, it actually is faster to use. (Okay, that was based on my personal experience, since I've used both.)

Rebel 2000 went retarded

I got a Rebel 2000 off ebay, and it had the same problem. The Shutter wouldn't open, it showed dead batteries, and the mirror hung until I pressed the shutter button or changed modes.
After a good deal of surfing, I found that the most likely reason was a sticky/oily shutter
(http://photonotes.org/articles/oily-shutter/).
Since I didn't have much $$$ invested in the camera, I tried cleaning the shutter curtain with Qtips and alcohol. After a little cleaning, the shutter started to move. After a lot of cleaning, the shutter moves freely. I ran a roll of film through it, and it seems to be working just fine now.

Error on shutter

One of the curtains in the shutter unit is not opening /closing properly. This will probably require complete shutter unit to be replaced , but a trained technician might be able to repair the shutter without having to replace the whole block. At any rate camera should go to your Nikon agent.

“Shoot and Select” Modes

e “shoot and select” modes allows you to select an image out of a sequence of still pictures you have taken by depressing the shutter button and storing it. This is best for shooting moving objects. SHOOT & SELECT 1: Shoots a rapid succession of 4 still pictures by keeping the shutter button pressed. SHOOT & SELECT 2: Shoots a succession of still pictures by keeping the shutter button pressed. The Stylus 500 will continue to shoot until you take your finger off the shutter button or until the card is full. After shooting, you will have the option to immediately delete the pictures you do not wish to keep.
